Not much of a surprise, but the Spyro Trilogy will have a required download according to the newly revealed box art just like the other versions. I doubt the download will be as big as the PS4 and XB1 versions, but still something worth knowing.

Spyro was such a huge part of my childhood, especially the first game. Even thought we all knew this was coming, I got really giddy seeing Spyro announced for Nintendo at last! (Real Spyro I mean, I know a lot of the later games made it to Nintendo, but those were largely mediocre.)
“Why do you speak of certain reversals—machinery connected wrong, for instance, as being ‘ass backwards’? I can’t understand that. Ass usually is backwards, right? You ought to be saying ‘ass forwards,’ if backwards is what you mean."
@aresius Once it is released we'll see the real differences as in Crash Bandicoot.
Anyway, it is good news that it's going to be released for Switch and I hope that this version still looks great.
@aresius Back to Crash Bandicoot, the difference between the Switch and Xbox One X versions, having played both, is massive in terms of visuals and frame rate. Spyro looks like having more open worlds so I'd be surprised if it looks and plays better than the Switch version of Crash. We'll see, I guess.
While is it annoying, I can deal with this.
A deal breaker for me is subtitles - I hope they are included right out the box, instead of having to wait for a patch like PS4 and Xbox owners did.
So WTH is going on with the Switch version? The eShop file size listing was changed to 15GB. Nintendo's official webpage removed the mandatory download banner from the box art (although the game is still listed as 6.3GB). Did Activision decide to pony up for the 16GB game cart? Are Switch owners getting all three games on the cartridge? https://www.nintendo.com/games/detail/spyro-reignited-trilogy...
Switch Physical Collection - 1,294 games (as of September 28th, 2024)

Yeah I'm sure most people will review it. But it's one of the few occasions where I could actually preorder if I had this information, so it's a bit annoying they're so quiet about it.
There were apparently stalls to play it at Gamescom, so I dunno why there's no new footage.
I'm so excited for this! I would always play the Spyro games at my friend's house back in the day, and I loved the smooth feel of the movement and platforming.
