@Octane They need an ultra easy mode and an insanely easy mode just to be safe, in case the child can’t learn to move with the controller or press jump

I dunno, some of the arena stuff (which happens to be my favorite parts of completing Kirby) was a pain for me in past games. Like in Triple Deluxe, that secret boss was a nightmare for me. lol
Star Allies even though on the easier side, the final arena thing still took me a few attempts.

Regarding difficulty in Kirby games I liked what they did in Kirby Clash spin-offs - some of those boss battles are hard as nails and you have to regulary grind for exp and components to upgrade you char. And then unlocking and beating the final boss is absolutely epic and truly feels like an achievement.
But with mainline kirby games I don't usually expect such struggles, I just wish they don't make it so easy you can play it blindfolded.
I like difficulty to be centered around gameplay design and not damage sponge personally, so if they added a "hard mode" I'd still play on normal because that is the way the game was intended. Besides some of those boss fights can be quite the challenge. however the platforming part has never been hard...that is in the DNA of the series.

@Ryu_Niiyama A Hard Mode isn't really about Damage Sponges. Bad games like Skyrim do this, but e.g. Kirby's Dreamland did it right: In Hard Mode enemies move faster and deal more damage to Kirby, but they don't have more HP. That way the game requires faster reaction and more precision without getting tedious.
Some of them do new/revamped moves as well...usually the hard mode also brings in a new boss.
EDIT: fixes the sentence constantly Man I cannot grammar correctly today. >_>
Anyways yeah, hard modes are common in Kirby games, and it's more than just making enemies hit harder, most of the changes involve the bosses.
Kirby games have historically been a bit easier than other Nintendo titles. That’s part of the games appeal because they want different games that appeal to different players of various skill levels. And while Kirby can definitely be enjoyed by anyone it’s designed to be accessible to younger gamers who haven’t yet developed those same skills we have.
That said, I found Planet Robobot to have a reasonable difficulty more in line with Mario. Which to be fair, even Mario is still on the easy side but it has a gradual ramp up, and so did Planet Robobot. In any case, the games are very similar to Mario and his match that you’re not going to be challenged with tough as nails platforming mechanics, it’s more of an enjoyable romp with some exploration and discovery of collectibles.
But ya, hopefully they don’t go too overboard with accessibility. I don’t think they will. Probably the earlier worlds, as always, but I expect a moderate ramp up as you progress.

@Clyde_Radcliffe There was a 3D Yoshi game in development by the team that made Star Fox but Nintendo weren't happy with it so the canned it but the developer retooled it to become Croc: Legend of the Gobbos.
Oh wow, I didn't know Croc was originally a Yoshi game. Never played it before but heard a lot about it back in the day.
@JaxonH I guess having ONE franchise specifically for casual gamers would be fine, but the problem is that most nintendo games nowadays seem to cater to beginners. Zelda and Mario have also become very easy. That's why I hope with every new game that there will be a little more content for core gamers.
Personally I believe that a good game should be for everyone. That means that everyone should be able to beat it BUT also that everyone should be adequately challenged by it. However, reviews almost never critic games for being too easy, so I could be alone with this opinion, and games like that may become the standard...

Zelda has been catering to more hardcore gamers since literally every game after Skyward Sword, wtf are you talking about?
@kkslider5552000 What? BOTW has no challenge to speak of, except perhaps the first few hours. You can carry almost unlimited amounts of healing items with you (traditional zeldas had at most 4 bottles) and you can spam them in the pause screen, which makes you almost invincible. The game does not even try to be challenging.
@VoidofLight I was never comparing it to Dark Souls. A game that makes you practically invincible IS a very easy game. What else is the definition of easy?
For comparison, Kirby's Adventure isn't Dark Souls either BUT at least it doesn't make you invincible with crazy amounts of potions so it's still better than BOTW in that regards.
