@MrCarlos46@Xenoblade-Fan@Dev1024 Honestly? I really do not want to see any old faces in the next game. S3 is "the end of the splatastic saga," and making reference to old characters outside of something like Sunken Scrolls is something I don't want. Because if we can get Deep Cut DLC and OtH DLC, then why not have the main story be about the Squid Sisters again? And why not bring back every villain? And why not do XYZ nostalgia-pandering thing? It simply opens the floodgates, and as sad as I am by the lack of Deep Cut anything in their own game (especially Frye 😉), I am worried that if the next game doesn't give us something totally new then this series may struggle.
@Xenoblade-Fan yes, but Chaos won, and did they make the game all about insanity? No, they based it on PEARL'S VERSION of chaos, which is simply change. So I think S4 will look at the SISTERS' IDEA of the past, which is not just history but the events in history that brought us where we are. Not trying to recreate the past, but rather be thankful for and learn from it.
It's crack theory time!
Make the most ridiculous theory you can!!!
In Splatoon 4 Marina gets kidnapped by octavio who we learn is actually her grandpa making her and the squid sisters cousins and Big man was just a mass hallucination by all of us bc we're so desperate for more male characters

@Dev-N The Mario Splatfest might come in March this time, because back then they had to start the 35th anniversary celebration in September due to the pandemic.
@MrCarlos46 No, March should be the next Big Run. I thought Nintendo only had the Splatfest repeats and Mario collab in 2 just because of the pandemic, but now the timing in 3 might allow for another Mario Splatfest regardless.
The Super Mario Bros. anniversary itself is in September, which also happens to be Splatoon 3's anniversary month. They can technically recognize both with a Mario Splatfest in September while doing something for Splatoon 3's one more time.
Coming back to this, I said March because that’s when Mario’s 40th anniversary is. The Mario Splatfest in 2021 happened on January during the Mario 35th campaign.
And then there are 2 anniversaries related to Splatoon this year: One for Splatoon 3 in September, and then one in May for the franchise as a whole. Not sure which one out of two they want to do, but if they want to make a while Splatoon 10th anniversary campaign, it would have to start sometime this year, especially if it includes a Splatfest to go with it.
