@_Lime No worries! I have a friend who mains xplo and he complained he had gotten the Reeflux Deco treatment, and Nintendo must hate xplo players. I am a Reeflux player, so he stopped amd added: dont say they hated you first--we have been troubled since Splat 2.

It's always cool to get new stages and weapons!

I don't know whether to be hyped for Side Order, though, as I'm afraid it will be too similar to the single-player campaign. I had a blast in the multiplayer modes but bounced off the "story mode" several times. Most levels are ok-ish, although they feel quite pointless and artificial in their construction (as opposed to, say, levels in Ratchet and Clank 3, for example), but what really kills the pacing for me is the tedious, boring exploration in the hub world. The collectibles don't mean anything to me and I've never engaged with the skill tree. How do you guys find the fun in story mode?

@FancyJehuty TBH I loved RotM! I still play it regularly. I have gotten every level completed in under 3 minutes and Im trying to get sub2 on them with every weapon. Its small selfimposed challenges like these that make it fun for me. If its not you thing then by all means avoid it. However, Side Order seems promisingly fresh and innovative, so jf you didnt care for previous Hero Modes, maybe this will me more to your liking!

Ooh, I hoped they would give us more colourful Gloopsuits! I haven’t played Splatoon all year but might have to log back in to grab one of those 🤩

Edit: ‘all year’ sounds like a long time, but it’s only February 😆

I see, so you're thinking of it more like a "challenge mode" instead of a story mode, which makes complete sense given the way it's designed. I just wish there were something more rewarding (cutscenes or whatever) when you reach milestones in that mode, instead of just ticking things off a list of random challenges and slowly cleaning the pink goo.

Side Order seems a bit more involved, though.

According to Inkipedia, explpsher isnt tge only doowed weapon: Dread os getting Beakons and Wavebreaker. I thought it had Torpedo so my copium taking self says its a typo but... i dunno, maybe Nintendo just wants us to play VBucket.

@Croctopus yeah that would suck, and it would also suggest that the updates are actually coming to a close soon. I was hoping for an extension

In some sad news, Nintendo said Bonerattle Arena is the FINAL Salmon Run map. I had feared this may be the case because the stage is so unique and bombastic, much like how Ark Polaris was the final map in Splatoon 2's SR. I do hope this means we will get 1 more King in the final season this Summer though. I mean, if that's the end of the stages, that leaves only a final King for the final season right? Dunno what else they could possibly give us and they gotta go out with a bang! The biggest, baddest King of them all..

That tweet about the latest Salmon Run stage being the last one added for the mode has gotten me thinking and I may have just had a revelation (or more accurately conspiracy XD) regarding both 3 and the next Nintendo system.

• 3's content updates are, most likely, going to end in about half a year's time.
• The Switch 2 is rumoured to be revealed this year and released the next.
• One of the prevailing rumours regarding the Switch 2 is that it'll be both backwards compatible and 'provide enhancements to existing games'.

So in that case....what if they just keep updating 3 but only on the Switch 2? Think about it: Splatoon 3, for as incredibly unique as it is, is still a competitive shooter at the end of the day and its very common in that type of genre to simply bring the latest edition of a given series over to the next console generation in order to maintain parity between the playerbase. It'd also provide an immediate highly popular multiplayer title for the Switch 2 which I imagine Ninty would want given how vital Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (a highly popular multiplayer title that released very close to the system's launch) has been in keeping the original Switch as popular as it is for the past 7 years. Plus it'd be a ton easier to just bring over 3 and gradually add another year's worth of content rather than just immediately hopping into development on Splatoon 4 (especially given how Splatoon and Animal Crossing share a dev team and I imagine they'd want to focus on giving the Switch 2 a new AC title as soon as possible given the runaway success of New Horizons).

@Croctopus Yeah, I thought it was a long shot getting those maps back. I think the devs probably tested them and determined they wouldn't work, at least not without redesigning the stages to the point that they barely resemble their original incarnations. I'm ok with it though. Bonerattle Arena looks awesome and is great way to go out. They just better give us a final King in Sizzle Season 2024. I don't want any of that "We can only have 3 Kings because this is Splatoon 3." nonsense LOL.

@CaleBoi25 I've been really getting into Dread a fair bit recently and, while I am by no means an expert on the weapon, I think I could probably make Beakon + Wave Breaker work someway somehow (I am the kind of psychopath that really enjoys playing Big Swig's kits after all XD).
