Topic: Splatoon 3

Joe is so much fun! I feel real danger with this king salmonid. When I get killed by it, I really feel the dread. That was/is not really the case with the other kings. Joe is everywhere... and he gets you everywhere! 😂
I splated him 4 out of 5 times... He shouldn't mess with me!

Has anyone else been getting connection errors today? I lost an entire series thanks to disconnecting and the game saying it was my fault.

@StarPoint Yeah, lots more people play at the start of seasons, so naturally there are more connection errors.

I'm halfway to 4 starring the new undercover brella, I think I sort of understand it's playstyle and weaknesses now. I MUCH prefer this kit, but kind of liked ink mines. Torpedo's great for it's survivabilty and an amazing poking tool, but I really miss setting up mines to give me the edge on overly aggressive players. Also, this kit can't camp super jumps which really sucks. The new special is infinitly more useful than reefslider though, so overall it'll be better in pretty much every mode. Love this kit, going to be my new main for sure!

Haven't been on Splatoon much lately for one reason or another (work, trips, not in the mood for it, etc.) but I finally got around to participating in the current Big Run (alongside trying out some of the new season content) and have had a great time so far. Barnacle & Dime isn't a map I particularly like all too much personally (I don't care if it's the best of the Tetris pieces, it's just so BORING) and, while Big Run-ifying it doesn't fully fix my issues with it (and I definitely think it's probably the weakest BR map so far), it's still a fun time overall and the little pockets on either side of the egg basket are great to try and hoard a mass amount of eggs for chucking.

All of this is well and good, but I'd be remiss to not mention the star of the show for this BR specifically: Megalodontia

Put simply? MEGALODONTIA IS AMAZING

Megalodontia (or Joe as the community has christened them) really caught me by surprise the first time I ran into it today. I hadn't actually seen any gameplay of them prior to the new season and was fully anticipating for them to start launching off a Tenta Missiles equivalent from their mouth as the reticle in the trailer seemed to imply. For them to be a complete 180 of that idea and actually just be an utterly GIGANTIC Maws (that acts pretty similarly to Triple Inkstrike in all honesty) was such a wonderful surprise to experience first-hand. And the fact that I also happened to KO them on my very first encounter just happened to be icing on the cake; absolutely LOVE this creature.

OK... so I finally found the time to play Big Run tonight, and got a high score of 97. Looks like I'm getting at least bronze this time. Those Grillers are the bane of my existence... I keep getting splatted by them and they go so fast. I have a difficult time with Glowflies, as well.

I don’t think I’ll get a chance to play Big Run, sadly… Don’t worry Joe, I will come see you soon enough!

Big run is so fun!! and I really love the new boss (joe) I’m not sure if the predetermined egg targets/count is good but it is making me grind more for the gold(I just managed to scrape it with 136!)

Remind to kill the game for giving me the e-liter on Joe! 🤬 Frickin impossible..

I played about 40 jobs. Had 117 eggs for a while. Then last night, got to 131... stayed with that team for another job and got to 141 eggs! And I finally beat Megalodontia once around job 37.

(And I rode pumptrack yesterday, temps hit 55F/17C. We may only get a few days that warm in winter, so I had to take advantage.)

Christmas tree'd my locker. I tried to make a santa using the neon pink Pearl stencil face, using cloud shaped stickers for a beard, but I couldn't make it look good.

Shame there's a 20 sticker limit on the outside of the locker. I could have done a bit more, I think.

Ok, why are people so bad at using their specials on Salmon Run yet everyone seems to be great about busting out their specials in PvP. It's driving me nuts!

The glitch described by Croctopus happened to me, but I didn't get any of my rewards. Did this happen to anyone else? I tried restarting the game, but still didn't get them. If anyone knows how to fix this PLEASE tell me.

@Croctopus @BingleyBongley I also experienced the odd cutout in the dialog though regarding rewards, we always get them 2 hours after the event has finished.

This is really weird now, I got the green egg for 111 (that score should be silver).

@Croctopus Yeah, what's the deal? I got 141, and was rewarded a Bronze egg. I'm guessing something, or someone goofed.
