Great. My first mystery box from the catalogue was an emote that I already had, which converted to just a measly 6000 coins. What a waste. I got more coins from the boxes you get after compleating the catalogue... >: |
@WoomyNNYes
If you only do the first 12 rewards and get lots of coin capsules, it's probably the fastest way.
To bad we only get chunks from gear now. I get why they removed it, but it was a good way to players that mostly play Salmon Run.
By the way. I have a confession to make, and I feel very stupid... ... ... I never knew until Splatoon 3 that you get all the Chunks and (in 2) money from the gear. I always pressed getting the new gear... because I thought you had to pay that money or chunks. I don't know what I was thinking... In hindsight, that makes absolutely no sense... π π
This is the outfit that I wear whenever I play turf wars.
The crown and shoes came from Pearl's amiibo while the shirt was from SplatNet 3. Also after the last Splatfest, I figured out how to use Super Sea Snails, so my clothes all have 4 stars each. And now I'm just leveling them up and scrubbing them, hopefully one day I'll get enough chunks to make my ideal set.
Also by the way, not sure I mentioned this but I forgot if I did... but this is actually my first Splatoon game. I never got the chance to play the last two. Before Splatoon 3, I had gotten Splatoon amiibo for other games and I even played as Inklings in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (currently the purple Inkling Boy is my main driver, at least until Birdo is released)
@JadeKitsune Oh, it displays in your post for you? Then it's my browser - firefox PC. Sorry. Yeah, it just says "Untitled" for me. Sorry about that. I'll delete my post then.
I just got Horrorboros at Marooners Bay. I thought I saw SplatoonNA twitter say the king salmonid would be shown on the SR schedule. Perhaps I was mistaken.
Now I have an incredible amount of regret for never getting into the series until 3. Imagine the massive amount of Miiverse posts I could've posted in the first game, the support I could've had for the Splatfest teams!
But alas, a combination of not living in a low-income apartment (could only afford a few games a year) and a distrust of new IPs steered me away from the series for a few years.
@JadeKitsune Uhhh. I like that purple version of that banner. I somehow got the worst color version of that banner.π€£ Mine is a drab orange with dark brown drawing things in it.
What's actually going on with Sockeye Station? We haven't got it since a week... And the upcoming 4 shifts are not Sockeye Station as well. Kinda weird..
@JadeKitsune Do you mean the badges have a meaning/joke other than their achievement? Otherwise, the badges are splatfest conch, catalog level 100, cuttlefish saved/single player story complete. https://pbs.twimg.com/media/Fqvg9CIaEAEXqxL.jpg (I pasted your pic link so I can see it without having to quote you, since firefox won't display the pic for me)
@budda Hasn't nintnedo temporarily removed a stage before before they made changes to them?
EDIT: Maybe they haven't gotten Horrorboros working on Sockeye yet for some unforseen reason?
@WoomyNNYes I was just asking if you knew how I got them. Respectively the badges mean I got the "Ruler" title in any given Splatfest, I reached catalog level 100 during any given season, and that I beat the final boss of the story mode.
I forgot we could do this. I unintentionally got some air off the egg basket. The extreme bicycle rider in me wanted to do it more, but I couldn't reproduce it intentionally. I think it was also hard to reproduce in Splatoon 2. Unless someone knows the trick to pulling it off reliably?
I failed Salmon Run wave 1 & 2 so frequently this week that I think I need to do something to play with better players. Working my hardest, I got knocked all the way down to Pro 1. And it was a bottomless supply of newbs tanking the game on wave 1 & 2. MAYBE it was just bad luck. But since big run, it seems like a lot of experienced SR players haven't been playing as much. Any recommendations @Budda or anyone else? The Hazco pool is just newbs 98% of the time, and usually only find 1 player (can't form full teams). Sometimes I think it's worse than freelance.
@Budda Do you play in full teams of friends, or just wing it in freelance? Of my few Switch friends, only 2-3 occasionally play salmon run, and I never see them recruiting for Salmon Run, and my efforts to recruit are always unsuccessful. I'm in the eastern US region, so I'm not sure if I need to seek people in my region?
@WoomyNNYes
Usually, I try to play freelance when it freshly started. Two time slots are 1am and 9am my time. So most of the times, I get a good team early in the morning. It get's problematic if the shift started on 5pm. But it's not like I have a choice to play in the afternoon. I only have time to play in the morning most of the time. But when I play in the afternoon it's mostly unplayable, unless I got up to 250 to 300 VP prior. Oh. And Sundays are bad. Doesn't help to play early in the morning. The usual sunday drivers are around.
The new pool system helps sometimes. If I get to find a good lobby. I get up to 200VP and start normal freelance from there. And you have to have a good feeling of knowing when to stay in a lobby. Even if you lose quite a bit. It could be worse in another lobby.
