@LinkxPeach Every level in Octo Canyon has one sardinium. You can only get them once. They don't respawn like power eggs. Some sardinium are hidden on the back side of a platform, or up high, out of view. If you got all the sardinium so far, then you'll have to keep playing new levels. Here's an abbreviated video of all sardinium locations. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oS71Lo80BDI
There are longer videos available on youtube that show more of the levels, if you need more help finding those sardinium locations.
@LinkxPeach You need BOTH sardinium AND power eggs to purchase the upgrade.
The first Hero Shot upgrade requires 2 sardinium AND 800 power eggs.
(I'm sorry if I said you only need power eggs a few weeks or months ago. After you max out your weapons, you can buy food truck tickets with just power eggs. You only get the "(X) Trade Power Eggs" menu option after you max your weapons. I got so used to only-needing power eggs for food truck tickets that I screwed up. It's been so long since I got the game, i had forgotten about sardinium in the begining of a new game. I'm really sorry if I created a headache with that mistake.)
Here's a clip of the fresh new game I started & getting the first weapon upgrade, so you can see what it should look like. I beat the first boss, had a few sardinium and 500 power eggs. So I replayed levels two or three times until I had 800 power eggs. I can get about 130-150 eggs if I'm thorough.
After I make the purchse, you'll see I lose 2 sardinium and 800 power eggs.
So, I have to used up some of my sardiniums along with the power eggs to upgrade my weapons?

So, once I used up some of my sardiniums. I can’t collect the same sardiniums from the same levels?

Correct!👌
If you go back to the sardinium location on another run through that level, there will a translucent sardinium there indicating that you've already gotten that one, and it won't add to your sardinium count. It will give you 5-10 power eggs instead.
To help you keep track, in the Octo Canyon hub worlds, you can hit (X) to open your menu, select the RECORDS tab, and it will show you which levels you got the sardinium, and which levels you haven't. This pic here shows the sardinium has been collected for each level of world 1 (Sector 1).
@NinChocolate It depends on whether you like watching the tournaments. NL has posted tournaments in the news feed. As far as I've seen, the tournaments don't tend to get people excited here.

@NinChocolate I'm not watching the tournament. Although, it is streaming right now via Nintendo's Youtube, but I only see tournament gameplay. My gut says, if they're going to show a new Splatoon 3 clip, I think it will be at a Direct. If they did show something new for Splatoon 3 at the tournament, it should also get posted on Nintendo's youtube as a standalone video. If you used up all 32 sardiniums. Would you still have a total of 32 sardiniums you collected, so far?

There's a total of 37 Sardiniums.
One in each level = 27
One for each boss = 5
One in each sector's hub world = 5
You say you have 32. Maybe you're missing the sardiniums hidden in each Sector's hub world?
In Octo Canyon, use your menu Records tab(like pic below) look for empty sardinium slots to see which ones your still missing. In the menu pic below, the Callie icon slot is empty, meaning the sardinium in that hub world hasn't been found yet.

@LinkxPeach There are just enough sardiniums to max all weapons. There are no other uses for them. So, you don't have to worry about spending them wrong. Once you've maxed your weapons, you're done with sardinium - you won't get or need any more sardinium.
Ign has a list & pic of each sardinium location. It's several pages long. Just look for the word "Sector" and there is a pic of each sardinium location for each Sector's hub world. Sector 1, 2, 3, 4, 5

I'm hoping we get the definitive edition of Splatoon 2 that includes Octo Expansion on the game card.🤞 I won't be shocked if we don't get it but, I would definitely buy it, since I only have Splatoon 2 digitally.
@Ninfan The game will only let you post in the word bubble if you link your game to social media, like twitter, facebook. In Inkopolis Square, you'll see a red tube/mailbox by the stores. You can access the word bubble there. It will let you draw something, but when you go to post it, you'll get prompted to sign into social media.
I've started playing again for multiple reasons. Mostly because 3 is coming out soon, I wanna play the DLC campaign and a lot more multiplayer of 2 before that happens.

@WoomyNNYes if I have done everything correct will I be able to see my own word bubble when I'm in the plaza. As I did do something but can not see a word bubble over my head.
