Um ... is it possible to have a Splatfest Tee before the booth is open? Because I've just encountered an Inkling wearing a themeless, gray Splatfest Tee. Is that cheating?

@GoldenGamer88 All of Miiverse is heavily moderated; there are no adult areas or anything like that. Strictly speaking there's also no appropriate place for off-topic posts, but in practice certain places are completely overrun with them. Nintendo don't like that, but I guess it probably does help to keep the rest of the site relatively clean.
Yeah, I've been seeing the default Splatfest Tees too. Dunno what's up with that.
Notable changes are a lot of buffs for Specials not named Ink Jet and Ink Armor, which were both actually nerfed. The Tri-slosher is also being nerfed, with a slight range nerf and damage drop from 62 to 52.
The range drop should've been a thing from the start considering the Tri-Slosher was one of the few good weapons to escape a range drop from Splat 1.
Yeah. It's a pretty fair nerf that should basically make the Tri-Slosher the more close ranged weapon it's supposed to be. It's better than murdering it like a lot of players I've seen wanted.
So it looks like the Point Sensor and Ink Storm both have their radius increased, and the Splash Wall deploys half a second faster. Feel free to keep buffing things I already liked, guys!
The only weapon type I'd need murdered are Chargers lol. Can't play them, most people can't play them and having more than one on the team pretty much guarantees a loss. And really good Charger users are just annoying, especially on the already annoying Moray Towers stage.
On the topic of weapons, what do you guys think we'll be getting this week? A Roller would be nice, I think.

@Nicolai During Nintendo's E3 stream, the chat was flooded with bots advertising sites that probably gave you viruses by posing as women who wanted dates. The most memed one was the bot who said in all caps "MY BED IS COLD! CAN YOU HELP ME?"
I guess you can say a lot of weapons also had indirect buffs and nerfs through the Special changes. I'm glad the Ink Jet was nerfed the way it was, I hate how difficult it is to deal with.
The increased hitbox is only for Shooters after all.
Apparently the Ink Armor will now have knockback if you deal over 100 damage at a time. This basically makes it easier for Chargers and the like that struggled heavily with Ink Armor to better defend against it. I don't think it will stop the Ink Armor stacking, but the new buffs and nerfs to specials may encourage people to try out different things.
@Nintendoer Ah, I forgot what I was doing that made me miss the live-steam this year. Doesn't sound quite like a coming-together achievement story, though.
Pretty good day to be a S'pro user. No nerfs as far as I can tell, and Ink Storm gets a 10pt drop in required points for activation, along with a 13% increase in radius (and therefore 28% area/coverage inkrease). The Point Sensor gets a 20% radius increase, and 1/4 second time reduction until your ink starts recharging again.
The foretold nerfs of the Tri Slosher, Ink Armour, and Ink Jet are also with us.
Interestingly, the Sting Ray's damage range appears like it will get wider if you keep holding a shot for an extended period, meaning there's some benefit in sticking with your shot. It'll be interesting to see how this plays out.
Pleased with the ink armour nerf.
Think the E-Litre will be a lot more viable with it. Not sure if I will still use object shredder, 4K does 180 damage and ink armour extra damage stops at 180. I do still like it for other things though like walls and the baller so I'll have to see.
@Maxz changes are actually coming soon. Don't remember the exact time, but it is the 8th in Japan. Think it is the same in Europe while it is in the evening on the 7th for NA.
Also regarding splatfest tees, it is probably a Japanese user. Their splatfest is this weekend I believe.
I don't know if I agree with how they nerf'd the trislosher (I've only used it in salmon run, I've never really enjoyed the buckets for some reason). Dropping the damage to 52 from 62 is still a THKO, especially since there is no drop off with the buckets. I would have been fine with them leaving the damage at 62 and making the side parts of the trislosher do 42 damge. That way if you can only hit them with the side parts of the slosh its not a guaranteed THKO, but if you it them once with the side and once with the middle it could be a THKO. That being said, all I wanted for it was the decrease in range and it got that. They could have left the damage the same and I wouldn't be complaining.
On a side note, I predict the weapon this week to be a blaster or some new form of the dualies again.
I'm hoping for the bamboozler or the zink mini splatling, because I'm working on a set for that right now.
@yokokazuo I've played with at least one person wearing a Splatfest Tee in ranked matches. So either that's not right, or strict regional matchmaking is a myth (I wouldn't be surprised). Or it could be, like, a user in Europe with a Japanese account or something silly like that, but with multiple sightings that doesn't seem too plausible.
@Zyrac I'm pretty sure strict regional matchmaking (outside of Splatfests) is a myth. I've played with enough Japanese players now that I'm pretty much positive about that. It's not common, but it happens frequently enough that I'm sure it can and does happen.
@Zyrac matchmaking is ping based so it tries to find those near you, but that isn't always the case and you may find yourself with users from other regions. By chance I actually found myself in a lobby with the daughter of a Japanese friend in league.
Just chipping in to say I've gone on record to say the tri-slosher seemed overpowered. Ha, told you so!
On the other hand, usually these games are very well balanced, so I don't expect the nerfing to be significant. Had anyone mained a trislosher for a while a feeling about a noticeable difference?
