Topic: Spanish game on UK console, will it work?

i'm in UK, just bought a new switch.
I want to play mario kart 8 deluxe.
There's a copy going on ebay, its in UK but box is all Spanish, so guess he/she must have bought it there maybe.

Will it work fine?
and will it all be in spanish or should there be language option for english (if it does work)

Switch is region free, so it'll definitely play, @giohaa ... I'm sure they don't make games for each country with just the native language, too So, I'm quite certain it'll have all the European languages available

The Switch isn't region locked, the game should work fine. English support? I believe every major Switch release supports English regardless of the region of origin of the cartridge. It's usually third party releases that are hit or miss with English support.

Well, I can't confirm about games from other regions like Asia, @Magician .... & a lot don't actually ask you to choose, they go to system settings Any time I've seen choices, it's all the European languages, though

Yeah, releases from Europe and North America support English most of the time if not always. However, Japan is a different story. Without having a checklist on hand, I think it's fair to say two-thirds of releases for Japan don't support English. But most of those are visual novels and dating sims, genres that are beyond niche to western consumers who are accustomed to mostly sports, first person shooters, and open world games.

Yeah, that sounds about right... Since this is definitely a European version, it'll have all the relevant languages It'd be more work doing country specific versions for every one of those

Then you haven't looked at Amazon Japan then. Unless it mentions english voice or text don't expect it to have it. If it is a UK game or EU then there is greater chance it will have english txt as for english voice unless it is a UK variant then don't expect it to have it.
