A lot of the reviews tend to talk about the games themselves which is understandable but as the topic mentioned im curious how it is regarding the emulation quality and the like, whether these games have much in the way of issues which weren't present in their original form, basically in terms of what could possibly go wrong, did it?

Most retro game you gotta play on the original hardware including an original CRT TV otherwise you will experience lag, and emulation problems like washout colors and such. Playing a retro game like the Bubsy games in a collection thats on a modern system like the Switch or PS5 or Xbox for the first time is just doing a disservice to you. Unless its total remake from the ground up like the Spyro Triliogy for example but I am guessing they are not if you're asking about emulation and lag. Going to tag @Neonpizza here as he can go into more detail.

I love the implication that someone would be playing Bubsy because they care about quality.

That being said, it was a bit of a bad omen when I played it at Pax last year and it almost immediately froze. Which to me, made it the most fitting Bubsy demonstration tbh.
