Just so you know I have been really hyped to get back into this game, and the wait is kinda killing me for the western release of the game, I have played and beat the original Wii U game and the Legends port to 3DS so I know the story and how the game plays. So the Japanese text isn't much of a problem to me. I would just like to know anyone else's thoughts on getting the JP version of the game.
While most Switch games include multiple languages from the get go, the Japanese version of Hyrule Warriors Definitive Edition only includes Japanese and Chinese (Simplified and Traditional).
Regardless of whether the Japanese text is problematic to you or not, it seems ridiculous to me that waiting another month to play a game that you have already played would be so unbearable. If you're that big a fan of Warriors, then it may interest you to know that One Piece Warriors will also release on the same day.
If you're desperate for a Warriors fix on Switch in the interim, there are at least three Japan-exclusive Warriors games as well as Fire Emblem Warriors.
Porygon did nothing wrong.

There's also Nights of Azure 2: Bride of the New Moon, which feels like a crossover (gameplay-wise) between Warriors and Bayonetta, which is fitting considering that the Warriors games are also made by Tecmo Koei.
Thanks for the replies every one, The only problem is that I no longer have a Wii U nor a 3DS to play the games like Smash and Hyrule Warriors, and Hyrule Warriors is one of my favorite games, My excitement to play it on the Switch especially is really high, I am still unsure if I will pick up the JP version or not but it's something I will think about.
I'd wait - I have the 3DS version as well didn't finish it yet. My Nintendo 3DS and NS collection is overwhelming me and I have to pick and choose what to play and when to play it. I won't get to every game ending but that isn't the point it's enjoying the game and getting frustrated at times.
@SwitchForce I hear that. I swore by all the gods I was going to be good and focus on getting somewhere in Skyrim before I bought any new games. It was an easy oath to make when I had no money for games.
Then I got some extra cash, and what did I do? I bought Bayonetta 1 and 2 and the new Atelier game.

Remind yourself that overconfidence is a slow and insidious killer.

We buy what we want eShop or Physical that is your money to spend but sometimes some deals are better then others.

I didn't make extra cash I made sacrifice to be able to buy Bayonetta Climax from JPN and it was worth it. Considering how big the download was for version 1 was.
If you wanted to play a warriors game in the meantime that plays a bit different compared to the standard warriors formula, Attack on Titan 2 is the potato way to go. Will probably play THESE along with Fire Emblem Warriors until I decide to rev up Hyrule Warriors on Switch.
I made Sheldon & Mr. Randoms back on Flipnote Hatena, now i'm a kangaroo mod that has a funko pop collection!
I'm not keen politics since that stuff is spooky, I'd rather watch SpongeBob over Fox News anyways!
Play the game now, so no one else in MURICA can play the game for over a month and you get to have the game all to yourself. But YEE, there is Fire Emblem, and pretty sure there is a One Piece warriors game on the switch now, and there is attack on titan which is a load of allies against a handful of titans at a time and such.
