Of all the cool properties Nintendo could have allowed an RPG crossover for, Rabbids is... well, a surprise. If it's true, it'll be interesting to see how they go about it!
...I'm 99.99999999999999999999% sure Ubisoft has already given up on the idea of The Rabbids ever coming back as a successful intellectual property. "The Minions" have long occupied whatever niche in hell that The Rabbids used to ccupy, and I know I'd rather see it left in limbo, but that's besides the point: This rumor is as farfetch'd as it gets. Ubi would have to be crazy to even suggest it, and Nintendo would have to be even crazier to green-light it.
...oh well, another day, another rumor springs up from the aether. Moving on...
If this ends up being true, the Mario RPGs are pretty much dead completely...
We already lost Paper Mario, and M&L seems to be going in that direction....sighs

Keep it PG-13-ish.
I never really liked Rabbids, but they're kinda a mixed feeling. The appeal is mostly slapstick violent humor, which isn't intrinsically bad. It's worked well for cartoons like Bugs Bunny and Animaniacs. And some of the humor in Rabbids can be clever sometimes. It's just... I dunno. I find myself not laughing but cringing and feeling uncomfortable whenever one gets hurt.
@Nicolai - That's because the Rabbids weren't funny. There's a naunce to any kind of humor out there, and The Rabbids were anything but naunced...they were pure chaos, nothing more. In fact, I kinda feel bad for comparing them to "The Minions" now, since they're a basically just yellow umpa-loompas. That's a different kind of annoying that's at least easier to ignore...
I detest minions. They were a cute joke in the first Despicable Me, but they've since morphed into the most horrifying sort of corporate marketing.
Oi. But again, just like Umpa-loompas. At least I have since built up an immunity for that level of drivel. Stuff like the Rabbids, though, remind me why I quit cable TV 10 years ago...
@CanisWolfred Unfair. Umpa-loompas are just creepy enough to be genuinely fascinating little monsters. Also, unlike minions, they're not constantly parading around in commercials, short cartoons, TV shirts, etc.
Umpa-loompas knew their place.

They were throughout the early-to-mid 2000's, and apparently were done to death 3 times other times before since the original movie's release. Also, I find the Minions genuinely creepy, at least from what little of their media I've been forced to interact with...
@CanisWolfred: I've seen some funny things from Rabbids. There was this Wii game where it starts off by making crazy sounds and vibrations come from your Wii Remote. Your TV then gives you a "view inside your Wii Remote," and you see a little rabbid in there. Then you have the freedom to shake it around all you want and make him bounce around. You can't deny that that is clever.
Those moments aren't frequent enough though, not enough for the horrible things that happen to them to be in good taste. Plus, it doesn't help that they're an eyesore to look at.
Please... please no. Just give me Piantas or something. Remember Piantas, aka one of the last original thoughts Nintendo had in its head before the Wii lull and the Dark Times?
@Haru17: Also, what about things like Ooccoos, Shadow Beasts, and Twilight people in Twilight Princess? And that's just races, too. What about Midna, Girahim, Zant, and Linebeck? All post-pianta characters. And what about raw ideas, like Subspace-Emissary? The transformable gravity physics in the galaxy games?
I'll agree that the Gamecube Era had way more original games than the Wii Era, but you paint quite a wide brush, sir.
Just a reminder: This is not confirmed. It's just a rumor from a website that has essentially become a rumor-mill - they practically confessed this morning. Sure some of them have been accurate, but as the article points out, by now they're suffering from performance anxiety. And/or a guilty conscience.
I just feel like some of you guys forgot that this wasn't a guarantee, if not a grade-school level blatant lie (and if you did forget, shame on you and all of your kin!)
That's not a confession, that's stress about reporting things that people just bash her over. I don't blame her at all. And she certainly wouldn't just lie for the heck of it. I believe whatever she reports is because she finds the source reliable enough. Poor thing.
