Topic: Pokémon Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee!

Not sure how I feel about Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee yet. I liked some of what I saw in the trailer, but I do have some misgivings. Mainly with the catching mechanics. Hopefully the motion control is optional.

It actually looks better than I thought so I probably will buy Let's Go Eevee for sure

Nintendo and optional motion control have never gone together, unfortunately.

Yeah it looks like you dont battle wild Pokemon, just throw and pray.

@DarthNocturnal It says based on Yellow, which means your starter wont evolve, and it seems like you only ge the first 3 Eeveelutions.

Also, I'm mixed on this. Like the last time they remade Red and Blue, it had objectively better graphics because it was sprites (half-serious), and objectively worse music since it was on GBA. It doesn't look any worse than what it could've been though tbh. Or at the very least, any issues I can see are made up by some of the cool additions they seem to be adding and for being less of a "3DS game on Switch" look.

Like I haven't cared about Pokemon much in ages, so I'm not the person to ask but in terms of being nostalgia bait because rushing gen 8 for HD would be a terrible idea, this seems to be working.

@IceClimbers To me this looks much more like a spin-off than a real mainline game. Especially if you look in the trailer when they're catching the Psyduck there doesn't seem to be an option to battle and it displays the Pokemon's CP. This just feels like an extension of Pokemon GO to me, which makes sense considering it's called Let's Go!

@Harmonie They've been better with that as BotW, Odyssey, Splatoon, ARMS, and even the upcoming Mario Tennis let you disable motion controls. I think motion controls are the least of this game's worries.

Mixed on it based on first impressions. Really like being able to do co-op though. That's genuinely one of the best parts.

Ok, watched the trailer. It looks good! I just hope you done HAVE to use 1 Joycon.

If I can evolve the eevee to Vaporeon, perfect then.

@DarthNocturnal You can customise Eevee/Pikachu, which implies they wont evolve.

In the trailer you see them encounter wild Pokemon. There is only options for throwing a ball, help, running and items. No battling wild Pokemon.

In a shocking development, the gen 8 Pokemon games that were never coming out in 2018, are not coming out in 2018.

Thankfully you can see an EXP meter and levels so thats the same. Just the act of catching that seems neutered.

Also Pokemon Quest looks pretty cool, not going to lie. It's free to start though, which sends off some red flags.

...Yeah, I'm gonna need more information before signing up for these. That said, I'll likely side with Eevee. I like Pikachu, but it's getting to the point where I need a break from that mouse.
