I'm loving the music, but I agree, there's not enough of it!
Graphics are fine. They're actually better than Arceus, so the outrage is of course overblown. Pokemon outrage is overblown as a rule these days, with so many people jumping on the Pokemon hate bandwagon for nothing more than social clout and emotional relief. Only thing I'm missing personally is a nice lighting system similar to TOTK.
Performance is amazing on Switch 2. Everything loads fast, menu's are wonderfully snappy, and the frame rate is super smooth. Really satisfied with how ZA performs on Switch 2.
Not loving the combat. It has its moments, like when you time a block just right, but generally I much prefer Arceus' hybrid combat approach. I don't like the fact that for ranged attacks, my Pokemon want to travel back to a specific spot next to the trainer before initiating. My preferred combat for Legends I think would be mostly Arceus, with an additional mechanic to time an attack of the same power level as your opponent's to cancel each other out.
I'm liking the characters much more than Arceus actually. Arceus had a nice central pool of the main 5-ish characters, but all the side characters IMO were forgettable. ZA has a much more interesting stable of characters including the side characters. That's one thing that modern Pokemon absolutely nails. Pokemon has GREAT characters in almost every game, and they consistently become popular to illustrate all over socials.
I played a bit of the new ranked season and this is probably my least favorite yet. People are just spamming DLC legendaries & mythicals for the most part. I didn't play much past getting the Blazikenite.

@DanijoEX-The-Kumiho The impression I get is that they really wanted people to play the PvP mode with the new actionized battle mechanics in order to collect the data from matches and see what works (and what doesn't), which will allow them to refine the system for future games.
And exclusive mega stones are a pretty strong incentive to get people playing.

I've played every one and I feel like they have just gotten worse pretty consistently. Free-for-all spam-big-pokemon and try to steal kills was never a great concept even at the beginning.
According to Serebii, the next ranked battle season will only allow the use of Pokemon that have received new Mega evolutions in Legends: Z-A. The season will run from March 12th through April 2nd.
There aren't any new exclusive Mega stones. The rewards are the same as the current battle season.

Without exclusive rewards, I no longer have any reason to continue playing the seasons.
It would be really cool if they distributed the different Vivillon patterns as rewards (especially the Pokéball pattern, which I missed in the 2013 event).
But it seems to me that the remaining support for Legends Z-A will be merely perfunctory.
I actually may give the new season a go, even if there aren't any special rewards. I've just been using the three strongest members of my story team for all the seasons so far, but the limited roster will force me to be more experimental, which could be interesting.

@FishyS thanks, I adored Arceus. But I wonder if it was because it was more like breath of the wild in terms of being open world(ish). With this being in a city, not sure if it’ll have the same impact on me, but I’m open to it.
@NintendoByNature It's extremely different than Arceus. I worried I would hate the city but I ended up enjoying exploring it. Although eventually the exploring runs out. Arceus is my favorite Pokemon game. Z-A was fun but definitely not my favorite.
I still need to finish the research tasks, but making the "win 1000 battles" task nearly mandatory is just insane. I've done just about everything else there is to do in the game and I'm still only halfway there. Definitely went overboard here, I just keep putting this off.
@Bolt_Strike Yes, it's incredibly tiring.
I used an Alpha Dragonite with the Extreme Speed move, in the 3-battle restaurant, and with the animations disabled.
