It will be! They send all high cost items by special couriers! Guaranteed by 5pm I think @TooSpeedy
Unfortunately Royal Mail Tracked is NOT a guaranteed service - nor are Royal Mail a courier as promised in an earlier email today.
Whether it arrives tomorrow or not I will NEVER pre-order from Nintendo UK again - they've learned NOTHING from the Mario Kart 8 fiasco of nearly 3 years ago...
Received an email to say my local Smyths is good to go for tonight with my order, so looking like a midnight pick up, I wonder if I can pick a case up at the same time!
An email I (along with many others) received from the UK Nintendo store.
Thank you for pre-ordering your Nintendo Switch console from the Nintendo Official UK Store.
We are happy to inform you that your Nintendo Switch console will be dispatched today for Next Day Delivery.
High value order items are dispatched via courier for Next Day Delivery as standard, so you can be assured that your order is being shipped to you using the fastest and most secure option available.@meherenow

Yes, that's exactly what I got.
What my point is that the next email gave me my tracking number for "Royal Mail Tracked" delivery.
That is NOT a guaranteed next day service, also it is NOT a courier.
That's what I thought. Usually the next day it will say received or something then progress with the shipping. I wouldn't be surprised if it's here on Monday. Shame though as they got my hopes up with the generic email they sent out saying it would be here tomorrow!
I have to say, I am hopeful it WILL be here tomorrow, but I just know from experience that if you send something by a non guaranteed delivery service, then there is always the chance you won't get it.
RM say 90% of Tracked 24 items should get delivered the next day — that leaves a hell of a lot of packages NOT getting there.
If they were serious about getting us our precious new consoles sent out for release date, and they were wanting to use Royal Mail, then they should have been sent out on the "Special Delivery" service.
Hence why I am done with pre-ordering from Nintendo Uk and the poor, limp Hut group.
Goodness me, they sent me my Zelda out on Tuesday and it arrived today (Tracked 48, so that one did make their percentile), they could have done something similar with the console, but goodness knows we couldn't take the risk of having it a day early...
I need some advice for tomorrow. I don't have a preorder, but Walmart Canada did not take any. They will have some available tomorrow morning at 7AM. In a small city (150,000 ish people) do you guys think I could get one if I show up around 6:45 AM ? I've never bought a console on launch so am unsure what smaller city launches look like
You might get lucky and get one but arriving 15 minutes before opening is really chancing it. For the NES Classic launch I lined up at a Wal Mart about 30 minutes before they opened at 9am. There were already 13 people in line and 13 systems being sold. There may have been more people who left after the last person in line said all systems were accounted for. I didn't really expect to get a system since I decided at 8am to try and go out to get one.
Now that was in Toronto but the Wal Mart might cover a similar amount of people to your town (if not less). If you can get there 1-1.5 hours before you'd have a much better shot but even then no guarantees. Maybe try calling to see if they know how many systems they'll have and plan accordingly? Good luck!
I wasn't going to order from Nintendo but I Thought what could go wrong getting it from them direct! I spoke to someone there and said I would definitely get it on release but I guess they'll say that to anyone to get that extra order. And why couldn't they use DHL or DPD, Royal Mail I always find a pain!
Fair enough, and having re-read your message, I see your point! On a personal note, I've never had any issues with the official store and they usually arrive either a day or 2 early or very early on release day! Fingers crossed for more of the same tomorrow. @meherenow
Well my amazon pre order of a Switch and CE Zelda has finally been dispatched. Between that and my official UK store order, I should be in Hyrule tomorrow
Ehh, this has soured my experience with Nintendo UK Store a tiny bit, since it is a kick to the face when they say next day delivery by courier, but then give you it by a non-guaranteed postal service. At the same time however, I have pre-ordered multiple things from them before, and have not had any issues, in some cases, even getting items a day or two early (such as BOTW and Pro controller today for example).
I think I'll stick with ordering with them in the future, but it is still really disturbing that they outright say one thing, and do another.
Don't understand why Nintendo U.K. Didn't use DPD to deliver the console. Can't believe how good DPD are they have an app to tell you the live route of where the driver is, what number you are on Delivery list and gives you the name and pic of driver.
