And based off your previous performances on this website, you've even admitted, many times, that you got too heated and emotionally invested. I even remember you having to leave some Zelda thread or something as things escalated.

And yet again I'm told of something I did without any quotes to back up said claims. That must be at least the 3rd time that's happened in the several months I've been here. Kinda annoying to be honest, wouldn't like it to continue.

I just think it's hypocritical that you make fun of people for getting emotional, yet you do it all the time. You try to hide behind this "ah...ha...I was just joking...yea..." façade, but I've seen posts from you about how you got yourself too worked up and needed to leave.

I think it's a bit unfair to characterise the people who don't buy into this BS as being personally insulted by it. If anything is combative it's that. It's not helpful to claim that the people you disagree with are upset. I for one am not upset although I'm sure you guys will continue to argue otherwise.

At the absolute most? I think this is BS and I'm annoyed by the fact that some news sites give it credibility. It's just some dude wanting to gain some ad revenue. That's it. I know of other sites who refuse to report this kind of thing, they try to build a reputation for being above it. Those guys get punished when this sort of garbage gains traction. And not just with gaming rumours either but with news in general.

There was a quote about online journalism I read a while ago. It said that it used to be that journalists would write whatever is in the public interest. These days they instead write whatever the public is interested in. Those two things are not the same. So if you want to claim that I'm "upset" about something? Don't say I'm upset about this particular rumour because I'm not. Say that I'm upset about the fact that clickbait passes as news these days and not just on gaming sites.

The same reason you did, because it's clickbait. It's a sensationalist headline. Then once we read it and find that it has absolutely zero substance and worse is being copy/pasted around the web as if it's news? Then at that point I think it's worth hanging around to be one of the few dissenting voices.

There is no greater hypocrisy than calling another person a hypocrite. Feel free to quote me on that. If what you're saying about @TheLastLugia getting "worked up" is true, then what he is saying sounds more like a cautionary tale than hypocrisy.

Metaldave decided to post in the comment section, he seems to be trying a bit hard to convince people that his video is real. The leaker doth protest too much

Well done mr Clever-Cloggs. They should hire you at Scotland Yard, you need only to go to all of the suspects they have arrested and accuse them of any/every crime and they'll confess just as I have here. So are we thinking this Zelda is a ground up version built specifically for the capabilities and features if the NX?
Or is it going to be upgraded version of the WIIU game?
If it is an upgrade surley that's going to make the highly anticipated WIIU version that we have all been waiting for nothing but downgrade?
I'm not sure this is true as thats the world's worst business plan IMO

Finally got around to trying to find some more stuff on this MetalDave guy. I'm bad at the internet, as search results are mostly flooded with his most recent "leaks," obviously, but it does seem he was active as far back as 2005ish, and made some accurate leaks concerning friend codes being used on the Wii, particular Wii games (Chrono Trigger Revolution as a download was something I found in particular), etc.

So, I don't know - I definitely don't think he's a corporate "pawn" or anything like that, because he's certainly been at it for awhile, and seems to have quite a few correct leaks to his name of various weight. Interesting!

So, about this SuperMetaldave64 guy, here's some interesting food for thought: He launched his first video on NX in October, to the point where 95% of his current videos are on the NX. Take a look at the overview of his videos, it's a joke: https://www.youtube.com/user/SuperTrevelyan/videos

Anyway take a look at this graph:

Kinda suspicious, isn't it? It's almost as if there's a correlation between the videos on NX and subscribers, views and ad revenue. The more videos he makes talking about NX, the more subscribers and views he gets. He completely dropped his old content, he's more than likely just in it for the ad revenue

Thanks for the links to sources. Tasty, tasty sources. His videos that don't have the magical letters "NX" in the title were lucky to hit triple digits. People argue that he will ruin his "credibility," by making excrement up, but so what? The revenue he will earn will trump everything he's earned from all his other non-NX videos. Once NX has died down, he'll be lucky if his videos are hitting triple digits again, so why not try to capitalise on it?

@shaneoh: I mean as I said before, if that's what he's in it for fair play to him, gotta look after no1 after all and he's certainly capitalising on it whilst he can. Though this was the best he could come up with? Yet another 'Zelda U on NX' debacle? Come on... Credibility doesn't matter, as many people have a memory like a sieve when it comes to remembering false rumours and other BS leaks. We've seen hundreds of different NX rumours by now, at least 99% are false, but who remembers those in a few years anymore? Only the actual leaks will be remembered. Besides, it's not as if most people care if rumours are actually credible or not. It's a cycle that's bound to repeat.

Unfortunately yes. It's a lot easier to gain an audience with crap than it is to actually do it properly. And that's a problem for anyone who wants to actually get some decent journalism. But in the end I like to think that it comes back to bite them. Sometimes I wonder whether that's delusional or not but still, I like to think it.

It certainly hits bigger sites/channels when they stuff up. I like to think the same happens to the smaller guys.
