@dannyboi although it's stale I understand why they did it this way. It's made so it takes up as little time as possible to switch games, or power on the switch. It would be nice if we could get some kind of background. It doesn't have to move just a picture will do.
@troy258 Wouldn't it be nice to get a background depending on the gamecard inserted, or at least each game (card)would give access to a wallpaper / theme to install...
@the_beaver although they could that I personally won't use it because I don't have any reason to use it. But a lot of people are asking about this so they could do that and I don't think that folders would slow down the os.
@lemmy_the_koopa It would be cool to get a new theme with a new game but I don't think that every dev is going to put the time or resources into it. Maybe let us use screenshots we take ourselves.
@whitewatermoose I think they should also try to get the sims 4 and madden 2020 on switch. These are both games that appeal to a more casual audience and I think they would run on switch.
@whhitewatermoose I agree but it can't be to hard to put the sims 4 on switch, and if fifa runs on switch madden can as well. Xcom 2 is also a game that fits perfectly on switch. And I think there's a lack of first person shooters so far cry 3, bortherlands the handsome collection or cod could help fill that void.
@dannyboi I think this year is going to be better. We are getting mortal kombat 11, 4 mainline final fantasy games, crash team racing, dragon's dogma. And i'm pretty confident they will at least release 2 great polished first party games. Last year we only got one with super smash brothers ultimate. Don't get me wrong let's go, mario tennis aces and kirby weren't bad but they weren't great either.
@whitewatermoose yep far cry 3 was already remasterd for playstaion 4 as part as the season pass of far cry 5 (just like ac liberation an assassins creed 3 were part of ac odyssey's season pass) so just dropping it on the e-shop is a no-brainer. If they bundle xcom 2 with all the dlc I would probably pay 60 for it. If they released bortherlands 1+2 + the pre sequel in one package I would also buy it for 60. If they release the sims 4 for 40 I would buy it, and they can make a lot of extra money on all the dlc. I think a lot of people would do the same so I don't know why developers are not doing it. The switch is selling and these are not hard ports to do. The only thing I can think of is the cards being expensive. But if final fantasy 12 is using a 32 gb card. It probably means they are getting cheaper.
