@Whitewatermoose I really doubt after 4 and a half years of killing off Kinect (Kinect-less bundles, XB1S/XB1X requiring rare special adapter, etc.) that Microsoft would bring it back. I fully expect Kinect XB1 exclusives like Dance Central Spotlight not to work on the next gen Xbox.
My understanding is this has basic Kinect functionality baked in.
That's literally just some random guys blog with no external links or confirmation outside of "two separate sources" lol. And it mainly talks about web cams in general not really specifically a new Kinect. If you have other sources I'd love to see them but I think there as much chance of MS bringing back the Kinect branding as there is nintendo bringing back Wii branding.
@Whitewatermoose no I'm in the US. Some rando "insider" blog post is not very compelling proof but we shall see I guess. And like I said the post itself is about webcams not a new Kinect. Most insiders are wrong, most of the time I have found.
With no Direct announcement today, maybe the investors meeting will be just delays then and Nintendo hoping that Q3 results are good enough that it's ok.
@Grumblevolcano Or, just maybe there's a Direct in February to coincide with the release of Piranha Plant (which I strongly doubt will be available with today's patch) and that was what they planned from the beginning and everyone is way overthinking things.
@IceClimbers For it to be named 2.0.0 there's got to be more than just bug fixes and character balancing. I think the free version of Piranha Plant will come same time as the update with paid coming a few weeks later like with Mewtwo in Smash 4.
@Grumblevolcano You're telling me updating Chrom's victory theme to match Lucina/Robin and switching the Pokemon Black and White logos on Unova League's thumbnail aren't enough for a 2.0.0?
For the record I actually hope they do both of those things. Oh and fix the frame drops on Fountain.
@redd214 .0.0 updates are more meaningful for games than they are for the system but if the rumour ends up true about update release date/time we'll find out in 30 minutes. The rumours were off about 7.0.0 update release date/time by a few days so wouldn't be surprised if the update actually came on Friday for example.
It will be intersting when the Eshop changes its name to the Switch Online Shop. I don't like the name, but if it means an Eshop overhaul then fantastic. Do you think the long maintence today will change the Eshop?
This month have been so frustrating for someone who expected even something.
No direct. January direct have been a thing since.. doesnt really have time to check but a many years. We still dont know if any of the major games are coming this year or not.
7.0.0 is a joke.
December was a great month for Switch but i dont understand why they wanna throw all that boost away?
@kova I think almost everyone expected a direct but we still got some games/release dates announced. I don't know if we are going to have a direct in february because pirana plant is out now. I'm confident we at least get yoshi, fire emblem and daemon x machina this year but it's time to get some release dates. I'm hoping there is a direct in february but I expect one in march. Untill then I will be trying to get rid of my backlog of games.
@GyroZeppeli A while back(December, I think) Nintendo went after a man whowas selling modded Switches and nes classic systems. A picture of the legal document appered online and part of the document said, Nintendo Switch users can play games either on a physical card or download them from Nintendo Switch Online Shop(formerly Nintendo Eshop). Also, this maintence they have been having for about a week points to something changing.
