Topic: Next Nintendo Direct?

i'm just bored and think that Gamexplain reporting the rumors makes it more interesting tbh

We have no confirmation on this at all.

It just comes from an off-hand comment from someone who claims to know what's happening. And all he said was "the sunshine and galaxy ports". Frankly, that could mean both galaxy games. The plural "ports" referring to the 2 galaxy games, rather than sunshine and galaxy 1.

@jump GameExplain has come out and admitted they've had insider information in the past, like with the Grinch leak. It's not a matter of convincing themselves.

That said, I think their info is bad anyways so shrugs.

Just a reminder that full general directs are normally announced the day before at 9am est, so we could still get one on Monday with the announcement tomorrow. Though it taking place on Monday is already a change up so you never know. Personally I think it’ll either be a Mini shadow dropped on Monday, a general direct announced on Wednesday and airing Thursday, (the six day pattern that @Grumblevolcano pointed out was really good and I think has credibility) or something totally different that no one expected because Nintendo.

Personally I think Nintendo knows everyone is talking about it so they will delay it a week so they can pretend they were in control of the announcement

Of course all the third party developers, who are in this Direct, would be pretty upset by such a move.

@dionysos283 Nintendo told the third parties awhile ago to fee free to announce their own games and not wait on them. Presumably there may not be any third parties waiting for this announcement

That was back in May. If it is a general Direct or a mini, you can be sure that it will contain lots of third party games.

I hope we will eventually get a volume 2 for Castlevania anniversary collection. The collection kind of leaves off at a point where the next series of games are the highlight of the series.

@sixrings If 3rd parties did follow that advice don't you think we would've gotten more 3rd party announcements by now?

The 3rd party front for Switch is pretty silent after July.

FF Crystal Chronicles Remastered on 27th August.... Bravely Default II needs an actual date but SE said they planned announcements, so hopefully something soon
Definitely do need a few more revealed. Preferably not all coming within a few days this time

Could Nintendo still announce the Direct, or is it already too late?

@Grumblevolcano maybe that's the curse of being a switch owner. First party games and Indies with exceptionally little third party support.

But with the Switch third party support was slowly ramping up. Even EA and Take-Two got on board this year. This makes the silence now especially strange.

Well, there's the ongoing situation that does somewhat affect that, @dionysos283 .... There are the 2 next-gen consoles coming, as well

For those who don't know him, he correctly leaked the date of the february 2019 direct and that Super Mario Maker 2, a 2D Zelda (which turned out to be Links Awakening) and a new Box-Boy game will be released in 2019 (although Pikmin 3 Port and Metroid Prime Trilogy HD are still missing from his leak)
