@BabyYoshi12
I don’t think it will happen on Monday. The March mini Direct was basically a showcase for third party games. I doubt Nintendo would show their games without at least a day of advance notice to build some anticipation.
It seemed fishy that Nintendo would announce a direct specifically for remasters of old Mario games. If these are just remasters of old games, what could Nintendo possibly say about them for 10-15 minutes?
Unless they really updated and improved these games in other ways.
I'm not actually expecting a Direct at all (so I guess I shouldn't really be posting in this thread). I'm just expecting an announcement in the next few weeks of the Mario 3D Collection, set to release sometime around late August, and then I think we'll get a large Direct around September time, which will contain all of the big stuff. Zelda trailer, Bayonetta 3 release date, maybe Metroid Prime 4 preview, maybe a Mario Kart 9 announcement.

@Dezzy Like that's ever stopped me from posting here
But seriously, my previous prediction that the next direct would be in September or (possibly) October still stands firm. Which would place a full year between general directs (not minis). Shadow dropped announcements will be all we get this summer.
Given no announcement yet, if there is a Direct on Monday it's probably a Direct Mini. My guesses for reveals in the outcome of a Direct Mini would be:
Start with Pokemon DLC (Crown Tundra)
A load of new 3rd party reveals
Bravely Default II gets a 2nd demo and release date
Animal Crossing early August update, maybe a tease for a fall update
Smash DLC Challenger Pack 7, either the character or a franchise tease
The rumoured Wii U ports
No More Heroes III gets spotlighted
Direct closes with a 3rd party release (TWEWY 2 maybe?)
If the 3D Mario collection is real, it gets announced in a September Direct for release in November.
@LzWinky The last time was in 2013. Though we've had them announced on Saturday for Monday as recently as 2015. But yeah, it's happened. Just... not recently.
@Grumblevolcano Jeez, that sounds about right. I'd say most likely August has a Wii U port if anything... but quite likely it has nothing, otherwise shipping would have caused it to leak by now. Maybe a digital only title of some sort? Been awhile since we got one of the bigger small games from Nintendo. Perhaps Kirby or Pushmo? Or perhaps its BD2, that's the only title that seems like it could come out that soon. Or nothing is always an option too.
Still, at the very least Summer Update Part 2 has to be revealed soon, that's guaranteed by the end of the month. Smash DLC no way, not til September, the characters are spaced out much more than pass 1 in terms of characters per year. And Crown Tundra will be shown off in a dedicated direct first. So I just don't see even a direct mini happening without at least one brand new NIntendo published title being shown off. With Pokemon and Smash both out as options, either we'll see more of Pokemon Snap, Bayo 3 will finally get a trailer, or a mini would need to confirm at least two new titles IMO. Perhaps a 2D Metroid based on all the January Metroid and Paper Mario combo leaks and a hm... It's hard to predict what they'd pull out next. Maybe whatever Camelot is working on?
So while I don't think it's real, I'd say it'd have to be something like:
Opens with Metroid 5, launching September
Third Party Focus 1 (several quick titles including something from Capcom, perhaps Megaman Battle Network Collection)
Animal Crossing Update Summer 2
Bravely Default II trailer + release date
Third Party Focus 2 (several quick titles ncluding something from Ubisoft, like Ezio Trilogy)
A Wii U Port, probably Super Mario 3D World or Pikmin 3
Third Party Focus 3 (Includes something from Squeenix, maybe a DQ8 port?)
No More Heroes III official gameplay reveal
Sizzle Reel
Close with new Ubisoft Colaberation, launching October
Now y'all can laugh if it does happen and this is horribly wrong.
@link3710 For Pokemon, I was going off that the Pokemon Direct in January briefly detailed around the same for Isle of Armor and Crown Tundra then the next Isle of Armor news was the end of the March Direct Mini. As for Smash, my thinking was about how every Direct since March 2018 (when the game was revealed) except the Mario Maker 2 and Pokemon Directs has had Smash news.
If the Direct is next week and it's as unexciting as the predictions above, I'll be sorely disappointed. Although Metroid 5 would be superb. The Switch is in its 4th year which should be it's peak year and with a new generation of consoles right around the corner, we should rightly expect a blockbuster few months. After 2017,I expected much more from Nintendo than they've delivered, especially with them having just 1 console to develop games for.
Since that epic launch year, I've bought just three Nintendo titles, Mario Tennis, Luigi's Mansion 3 and Links Awakening. 4 if we include Astral Chain. I don't expect every game they put out to be to my tastes, but I do expect there to be at least 2 or 3 titles each year that are.
My own predictions for the Direct
Mario remasters - August / September
Starfox X F-Zero - October (unlikely I know but I want it to be real)
Metroid Prime Trilogy - November
Breath of the Wild 2 - November / December
Mario Golf - early next year
Bayonetta 3 - early next year
and the reveal of a big new IP, this gen's Splatoon. Or perhaps ARMS is this gen's Splatoon? If it's not, whatever it is will be revealed in the next major Direct and release next May/June .
At this stage, I think people would like almost anything from them .... It may be just one game announced, etc! Not long to wait, if it is anytime next week, now, though
Supposing we'll see a Nintendo Direct on Monday, it'll very likely be a Nintendo Direct Mini. Which will probably imply no huge announcements (remasters and rereleases falling out of that category). What do you guys think?
At this point I think we'd be lucky to get a mini, I think a Mario only announcement is what we'll get. That could be a good thing as a mini would take away content which could be used in a bigger Direct later?
I'm telling you, it's only a matter of time until Microsoft remembers they love money and allows the Rare Collection on Switch. That thing would quickly become one of the best-selling titles on Switch.
If Rare Replay were to come to Switch, I’m pretty sure it would have happened by now alongside when Microsoft gave the green light for Ori and the Blind Forrest and Cuphead

Hmm, maybe they're spreading the games out, @FragRed .... There was the recent Bard's Tale Remaster (by InXile, XBox Game Studio), which released simultaneously on Switch & XB1, which hardly got much fanfare
