I'm still of the view that it's on their next piece of hardware but not at the expense of it existing on the Switch. Now how that looks? I don't know. Depends on how much titles can exist across both Switch and whatever's next. But however it looks, I think Prime 4 is too big of a carrot for enthusiasts not to make it a launch window game

It sounds much more like you're vastly overthinking it. Even if it's not directly ninja themed itself, it's a spiritual successor to a notable series that is, and is likewise still set in a cartoony Sengoku/Edo era Japan.

Granted, it could be anything (or nothing at all) such as a Messenger sequel, Shinobi revival/port, something Naruto related amongst a bunch of other things, but as a vague hint the new GoodFeel game is as good a guess as anything.

I personally think its going to almost exactly follow Final Fantasy 7 remake. Game announced far too early, eternally silent as the game is remade under a different team, comes out in last major year of console, ported a year later to the new console with slight improvements/additions.

I know technically the rumours and speculations thread is the place for leaks, but this thread has always been 60% about guessing what will be in directs (and when) and I think there are about 300 leaks in previous pages.... Obviously we can adjust to what we post if @DreamlandGem wants, but I understand Neph's surprise.

That said... how did you know that particular leak was real enough to be a spoiler? 🤔 I can only assume your uncle works at Nintendo.

@FishyS Eh, less surprise and more discontent with the situation since people usually love sharing & discussing about things like these. But I also understand others that wanna go in blind or having a dedicated thread for these things. Like mentioned though I've seen others share it before so I didn't think it was a problem at the time. I'll just keep it to myself next time or post it in the proper thread, lmao.

@Neph You didn't. I'm quite impatient when it comes to these types of things. I want to know asap so I can adjust expectations. It's surprisingly lead to a lack of disappointment in Directs. It definitely helps that it feels like something that's been unlikely for YEARS, so I almost don't believe it regardless.

Honestly I don't know why people who don't want to know anything about a Direct would go to the forum dedicated to speculating about what will be in the next direct, but maybe that is just me.

@ElRoberico The latest tweet is incredibly easy to guess, at least the franchise. Also, yeah I have no idea how people worked that game out from the riddle but again, very clever people out there.

I saw Pyoro's tweet earlier on myself and, while I'm certainly still iffy on the trustworthiness of an individual who seemingly came out of nowhere around February to start spilling the beans (especially someone who's been around since March 2021 according to their profile), it's still interesting to imagine what the thing they're talking about could entail.

Now in regards to what they actually talked about, I personally think people viewing it as a sign of a brand new F-Zero are going to be pretty let down as what I think is the far more likely option (given how it's been rumoured for months on end even prior to today's developments) is a remaster of GX; Gamecube remasters have been all the rage lately with Metroid and Pikmin's announcements/releases, GX is widely regarded as the best entry in the series and I could see them using it as a metric of interest in a brand new F-Zero if it sells well enough. There's also the possibility we get a brand new F-Zero announced with GX Remastered released as a shadow-drop alongside the reveal but given the amount of years people have gone into Directs with a similar level of hope in regards to this series, this might just be wishful thinking 😅
