@VoidofLight @Giancarlothomaz @FishyS Nintendo will have multiple launch titles, 3D Mario seems like a sure thing but having Metroid Prime 4 alongside it doesn't seem too far fetched, personally I think it will be next gen only, but there's a good chance I'm wrong.

I'm half convinced Peach game will be a launch title (with a new gimmick you can use on Switch 2.. maybe cross-gen with the gimmick optional). I realize I could easily be proven wrong in the next couple weeks at the Sep direct though.

@VoidofLight I mean last year Pikmin 4 was their showcase game and that's a niche franchise. If they're ready to reveal Prime 4 before they're ready to reveal next gen stuff then Prime 4 could definitely be a showcase game.

@Bolt_Strike That's not what @VoidofLight is saying, rather that Prime 4 won't be a showpiece for the Switch's successor like BotW was for Switch or Twilight Princess was for Wii. I agree with that logic, the showpiece for Switch's successor would most likely be 3D Mario.

But I do think we'll see Prime 4 in the next Direct and it'll release before the Switch's successor does. My prediction is 1st half of 2024 release for Prime 4 and where in that timeframe solely depends on how Nintendo approaches Prime 2 and 3.

@Giancarlothomaz Sorry if a stupid question, but where does it say Nintendo Direct?

I never drive faster than I can see. Besides, it's all in the reflexes.

In other news, the sun is a giant ball of fire, and water is wet.

@Grumblevolcano Okay, that I agree with, I do think Prime 4 may be ONE of the showcase titles but not THE showcase title. 3D Mario probably would be the biggest one, but I also think Mario Kart and possibly Prime 4 if it is cross gen would be big titles too.

Not quite sure if Prime 4 will release before next gen, I do think it might be cross gen, but it could be revealed before we hear about the next gen console. Similar to BotW, when we had a big blowout on BotW before the Switch was revealed.

Nintendo just removed the wave 5 trailer from the Switch news section, really gives me the impression the next Direct is going to reveal the entirety of wave 6 rather than just a small tease.

Prediction for the September Direct: the Peach game will be a no show. It'll be in the February Direct though then it'll have a May/June release

@IceClimbers Part of my predictions earlier in the thread is also that Peach game won't be fully in a direct until at least February. I'm split 50/50 if it will then have a Spring/Summer release or if if will be Fall, possibly alongside Switch 2.

Nate hints at a Nintendo Direct that could be airing next week.
Remake of the fourth Fire Emblem-game, Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War has finished development, waiting for an announcement. Could be announced, not sure.

He also heard that Nintendo is waiting to give Metroid Prime 4 a locked date, that it could be announced too. If nothing has changed, then it's looking like a game set to be released in the first half of next year.

The MP4 release date will for sure be 7/23/3462 (trust me guys my uncle works at Nintendo)

@Stamina_Wheel I'll believe Nate the Hate when it snows in hell. The guy basically predicts a lot of stuff, and gets it completely wrong. Remember how he keeps saying Twilight Princess and WindWaker HD will be ported? Like every year? Yeahhhhh.

The thing about next week is would Nintendo want to overshadow Pokemon?

Scarlet/Violet DLC and Detective Pikachu Returns appearing in the June 2023 Direct means that whatever made Nintendo part ways with Pokemon in Directs has been resolved. Before the June 2023 Direct the last time Pokemon appeared in a Direct was the March 2020 Direct Mini but up to that March 2020 Direct Mini, Pokemon was common in Directs.

I think Nintendo would leave next week blank in terms of non-Pokemon stuff to keep all the attention on The Teal Mask DLC. So out of the 2 rumours (Wednesday or next week), Wednesday sounds more believable than next week.

@IceClimbers I'm with you there about Peach.
I mean it depends how much hype they want to drum up over time but considering how little we saw and how it's just 'untitled Peach game', I think it will sit out of the September direct.
Also, the scope of the game is still in question too, will it be short and sweet or a big, bombastic adventure??

In terms of the direct date, my heart says Wednesday but my gut says next week haha!

"It HAS to be Wind Waker!!"
