Who was the leaker who leaked that there would be a new Mario game involving the word 'Wonder' well before the June direct? I'll believe that leaker if they say anything.
@FishyS A person that goes by the handle '@/Pyoro_X' on Twitter (as in the character from Warioware). They've also correctly predicted the Mario RPG remake and an NSO drop for the end of August (which, as we now know, was Excitebike 64) so they seem to have a certain amount of reliability as of late (how long it will last I have no idea but hey; may as well savour it while it lasts XD).

@MarioBrickLayer that how i expect/predict the Switch sucessor is gonna be: septembre/octobre: next 3D Mario(exclusive)
novembre: yearly Pokemon game(cross-gen)
dezeembre: Metroid Prime 4 or Monolith Soft action RPG(cross-gen for Metroid Prime 4, exclusive for Monolith Soft new action RPG)
@GrailUK In before Nintendo closes the Direct with “Now there’s just enough time for one more thing. We hope you enjoyed playing the many thousands of games on your Nintendo Switch. Unfortunately we are no longer releasing games for the Nintendo Switch. Please understand.”

The problem with Pokemon being cross gen is that multiplayer is a huge part of its gameplay. Would the Switch version of that game be able to trade and battle with the Switch 2 version of that game? AFAIK, that's unprecedented. I think Pokemon will stay on the Switch until the 10th gen games (in 2025, possibly even 2026 for the 30th anniversary), doubly so if the Switch 2 is BC. It'd make more sense for Pokemon to be a fairly late adopter to the Switch 2 as it usually tends to be, the Switch is still going to be successful and getting games for several years into the Switch 2's lifespan so there's no rush for Pokemon to transition and split the userbase to the point where the early adopters on Switch 2 might not be able to play with the late adopters still on the Switch.
Doubt they'll do a cross-gen pokemon game. Will probably just stick to the Switch, with the game being playable on the other console thanks to backwards compatibility.
"It is fate. Many have tried, yet none have ever managed to escape it's flow."
New nes, Snes, and GB games just got announced. Wonder if it decreases the chances of a direct soon?
I believe there was an NSO drop a couple weeks before the June 2023 direct also.
The September directs tend to talk about bigger NSO news like plans for the future or new systems, not just random non-famous individual games. I would guess they will say at least something about NSO.
@Croctopus I’m coping for a shadowdrop or a Future Redeemed-like situation where Side Order drops a week later but one of the worst case scenarios is it coming alongside the Chill Season. But that would likely bring less players to the new season so it has a chance of releasing sooner (please no 2024…). Maybe the Deep Cut amiibos have gear relating to SO, so they’ll make a surprise appearance? The Pearl & Marina amiibos came out after OE and those had their outfits from it which means SO could release earlier or near the Deep Cut amiibos. But that’s just a squid theory!
