Now Microsoft has revealed the Xbox Series S and it’s price at $299.99/£249.99, I wonder whether Nintendo will try and lower its price to make the Switch more attractive? I know the price of the Switch light is already lower than the Series S, but Nintendo could still lower it further.

@FragRed Im guessing Nintendo doesn't want to lower it's price... so it'll get through the holidays selling out and then in the spring drop a revision at the same price while phasing out the older model.
Am I right in saying Nintendo have never sold hardware at a loss? Where I believe Sony and Microsoft may have.
If the cost of components has come down (it must have since 2017?) then maybe they will?
I'd be interested in seeing a bundle price comparison, you can get a Switch + Mario Kart for £319 at currys.co.uk, if next gen games are £65 (as reported a while back) then the Switch combo is currently only £4 more expensive, so @-Green- is right!!
@Dezzy you basically couldn't find a regular 3DS months after the new 3DS came out. So they might lower the base unit but they may also stop shipping that unit.
Seems likely that the next Direct is another Partner Showcase. The Mario stuff makes sense to not be in a general Direct because of release date being so soon but this has no reason to not be in a general Direct if there was one coming soon.
There will be at least 1 more big announcement, I guarantee it. Probably not a Direct. Just a random announcement of a game. They're not going to have no holiday release. It's just never happened.
@damien33ad@NintendoByNature I think there is more chance of another Mario announcement than anything Zelda or Metroid happening, I think both of those are next year.
If there is a holiday game I think it would be another IP (star fox? Kirby? F-Zero?) or A new IP.
If it was another Mario announcement, what could it be? I can't see Odyssey 2 or another new 3D game coming soon.
This aged well!!
Not sure if that counts as a Zelda game though!!!!
