It’s not 100% for sure. Leaked documents were from 2018 and a lot of those could’ve changed since then, though personally I do believe it. Seems to be the trend nowadays for virtually every PS/Xbox/NSW 3rd party exclusive. I think it’s a good thing because it makes the game more financially viable. Not that it wouldn’t have held its own as a pure exclusive, but adding PC just ensures it maximizes revenue, and that will increase the likelihood of other games being developed with Switch in mind without the need to prioritize PS/Xbox. Basically, including PC can increase likelihood of more Switch exclusive games (console exclusive, anyways) that are actually designed with the system in mind and not just downported from the power consoles (or not ported at all).

But ya, I’m pretty sure we’ll get plenty of collab content.

I saw that video. This game looks really fun!

Monster Hunter Rise confirmed to have online play with all regions, with pre-set messages auto-translating to the set language of whoever you’re playing with, which means you’ll be able to play and effectively communicate with literally anyone in the world regardless of country, region or language barrier.

Also, pausing in offline mode is now confirmed (a feature NOT present in World), mantles confirmed to not be returning (a huge plus), video recording feature is confirmed, and they are looking at including free text chat in game between players as well as auto-translated pre-recorded voice lines and stamps. So the voiced shoutouts can be used to communicate, and will be translated into the native language of each player in the party so everyone hears it in their own language.

I only used Mantles like...once. So I don't really care for them...

World/IB has balancing issues...way before Alatreon and Fatalis made it in...

Online play with all regions? That'll make it easier to coordinate with players from this site/elsewhere. The pre-set shout translations will be a godsend too.

I am using mantles all the time in world, but its not like i will miss them really. I used them cause they were there and useful but putting them on and off every time and keeping in mind when they recharge and run out got a bit on my nerves so i guess i like not having to pay attention to that

I really do hope they also announce a MH character for Smash, too, would be awesome and perfect timing. TwT

Seems there will be a Game Awards Trailer. Spoilers if you don’t want to know. It doesn’t show any footage and the names of the new monsters are Japanese so we don’t really know what they look like. But it does confirm a new map will be shown and it tells you the name of it, and it confirms a few returning monsters that will be shown.

...Eh, I don't bother with leaks since a lot of them end up being fake anyways. I'll just wait and see what happens.

I didn't look at the leaked video, because like I said, screw leaks. But...yeah, Flooded Forest!!!

The leak video didn’t actually show any leaks. It just discussed that a video would be shown, would have Royal Ludroth, Kezu, and 2 new monsters.

Anyways, ya, it seems they’re taking a Portable 3rd map and reimagining it for the Switch! That’s what Ichinose meant when he said it would inspire nostalgia. Hype!

1. Gobul HAS to come back now, the Flooded Forest battle theme basically belongs to him, lol.
2. Flooded Forest was one of my favorite maps (Sandy Plains still #1, lol) back in 3rd generation. So this is awesome, hopefully weather is still around and it still rains in this area.
3. You think any other old maps will return? Or is this like 4U and the Dunes, just the one map? lol

Gobul would fit in, but it was an underwater fish, not really designed for a purely land based encounter. Unless they redesign his move sets like they did Lagiacrus in MH4U and MHGU, I can't see how they'd manage to pull it off.

I'm not sure if we'll see other old-school maps reimagined. Hard to say. I figure the game will probably only have 4-6 maps, and theyve already shown two of them. So my guess is no we won't see any more older maps reimagined, HOWEVER, I think the G rank expansion will likely add at least one more.
