@DarthNocturnal The demolition troopers are NOT stupid, always using cover. They're just very frail, especially on high difficulties. Nothing a little Hypermode aggression to take the heat off of them can't fix.
As for scanning, it's fine, though Corruption did start getting carried away with having logbook entries for every random container and door. And a lot more permanently missable entries, particularly on Olympus and Phaaze.
I took the scanning as more of a nice way to get info more then anything. Never felt I had to scan everything to 100%. Sorta like Koroks, no way I'm finding them all but for those that want to they're there for them to do. I would feel more inclined to 100% things if the reward for doing so was worth it.
Scanning was one of those things that was neat the first time around, but then it felt... done/ overplayed by the 3rd entry. But it feels too extreme to get rid of it completely.
This is coming from someone who 100% EVERYTHING in all 3 Prime games (well, and everything single player in Hunters). Even beat them all on Hard Mode.
On a related note, please don't ask me to escort too-dumb-to-live troopers again...
Maybe a wave or room scan option - you send out a wave 360 degrees around you and it scans everything around you OR highlights the things that can be scanned....?
I've been thinking and well do you think there's a possibility Prime 4 gets cancelled if Samus Returns sells badly? If you think back to Fire Emblem, the release of remakes of Japan exclusive Fire Emblem games (i.e. brand new Fire Emblem games for the west) for Switch depended on how well Shadows of Valentia did on 3DS.
Samus didn't have Power Bombs in Corruption but she did have something similar in the form of the Hyper Ball. I think that's the reason why Power Bombs weren't in Prime 3, along with Super Missiles. They would've been redundant.

Nah, no way. They'd wait to see how prime 4 fairs before canceling any future Metroid projects.

Agreed. Fans have been very vocal about wanting Prime 4, so if MSR crashes and burns they're not going to pull the plug, they're going to let Prime 4 play out and see if the fan comments translate into sales before deciding to cancel the series.
Soooo NoA's corporate communications director said Metroid Prime 4 and Pokemon Switch are due out next year. Needless to say, I'm skeptical, but if that's the case they must be much further ahead in development than we thought.
“If you want to be able to play games and not have a dry spell between any of the big launches, we think Nintendo Switch is a good place to be. We have a nice drumbeat of first and third party. You’ll never have to wait long.
Just as you get through a game and you’re starting to put your head up, put the periscope out to see what else is out there, hopefully we’ll have something right there for you. We’ve announced a nice lineup through this year, and next year we have some big games coming with Metroid 4. 2018 will be around Metroid, Kirby, Yoshi, new Pokemon game has been announced. We feel good about the lineup for this year and beyond.”
Unless Reggie or someone with direct access to the game repeats this, I'm going to assume he means we'll see more of Metroid next year, not necessarily the release.
Everyone said Xenoblade 2 would be delayed too. Yet here we are. Still.
At least that had footage to accompany the announcement, but you're right. When it was revealed at the Switch even, the fact that they mostly showed papers and character concepts drawn out made me think it was a ways off. Hopefully that's the case here.
Xenoblade isn't coming out in 2017 and Prime 4 isn't coming out in 2018.
I can't see how Nintendo would cancel Prime 4 now. The amount of hate and bad will they would get would be astronomical — Prime 4 was one of the most talked-about games of E3.
