@Joeynator3000 I don't remember how he was in the Wii version but they start spawning more pirates as he begins to recharge, which is what ended up killing me as well.

@Dom_31 I don't think that changed at all, it was always two or three that show up, I feel like they hit slightly harder or something, though.

But yeah, in past versions on hard mode I never had much trouble with him, this time he killed me on the first go, second try I won but had like, one bar of health left. lol

@Joeynator3000 had almost the same exact experience. First try I kind of struggled remembering /figuring out when to attack and after around 50% HP he doesn't wait for you to defeat the adds

It's Aknes (Mobapad M9 I think?) Sold on Amazon.

Until now, every Switch controller cut corners and was missing at least one core feature. This is the first one that has every core feature and then some.

  • Mechanical switches for buttons like a keyboard (super satisfying to click)
  • Analog triggers for PC/mobile with optional hair trigger stop for FPS or Nintendo Switch
  • HD rumble, Normal Rumble or Off
  • NFC
  • System wake
  • Gyro aiming (even maps right analog to gyro on PC- not that it's needed since Steam games can map mouse gyro for most games, but still cool)
  • Extra rear grip buttons on left and right, easily mappable for any other button or button sequence macro
  • Faceplate removes, can swap button positions to be Xbox layout or Switch layout as needed

I've always used a Switch Pro controller because I love HD rumble and refuse to sacrifice it. But with this controller I can have my cake and eat it too. All pro controller features included, plus rear grip buttons which are SUPER handy (I got used to them with Steam Deck and now want all my controllers to have them).

@neonpizza
I'm convinced all 3 will be Remastered as the original leak said it was already green lit. When is the question though.

Metroid Prime 2 Echoes is my favorite one. On the one hand, yes it's more of the same. All 3 Prime games fit that description, really. But it's more of the best game ever made so I'm 100% ok with that. I've beaten all 3 games, and I can definitely state that MP2 is my favorite. Here's why.

  • Environments feel more natural. In the first game, it's fire, ice, etc. But in MP2, you have places like Torvus Bog, Sanctuary Fortress, etc. It's not so "elemental". And I love that.
  • Like Zelda Link Between Worlds, you travel between Light Aether and Dark Aether, two interdimensional versions of the same world. This is one of my absolute favorite game mechanics. Not only does it have all the same puzzles and exploration of the first game, it adds interdimensional travel between the two versions of Aether to make it even more complex. A wall may block your path in Light Aether, but travel to Dark Aether and the path is open. You're constantly going back and forth between the two. It's so good.
  • Darker tone, higher difficulty. One of the aspects some disliked is that your Health slowly drains while in Dark Aether, unless you're in the safety of a light bubble, which are scattered throughout the world. But I loved this aspect. It really added to the tension. The final boss was also the hardest boss I'd ever fought, but it was all the more rewarding when I beat him. I've a story to tell about that, jumping up in excitement and making the disc skip from landing, losing my progress after FINALLY beating the end boss and having to do it all over again... fun times 😀
  • Lastly, some criticized the fact your Light Beam, Dark Beam and Annihilation Beam had limited Ammo (kill an enemy with one beam to get Ammo for the other). But again, I liked it. This made resource management all the more present in the game. If it were unlimited, you'd be OP with the Annihilation Beam (it uses Light and Dark Ammo combined at same time). Perhaps they'll make it unlimited in a casual mode or something. Who knows.

Decided not to wait to see when any of the online retailers would get more stock in, so I went ahead & bought it digitally.

I've retrieved the missile & morph ball upgrades so far. All the places that have opened up to me are too hot to explore, so I'm gonna go back to the starting area to see if there's another path to take.

My first time playing it (or any of the Prime games really), and at first I thought the formula would be too overwhelming in 3D, but I think I'm starting to get to grips with it.

I just had an email from Nintendo UK, they are about to take the payment for my pre-order, I wonder if there's a chance of the physicals being delivered early?

Have the doors been patched yet? Forgive me if someone else has asked recently. If I'm going to get the game, I'd rather wait until after that's fixed. I'm in no rush.

@WoomyNNYes Nope, they're still the same. I'm unsure if that's ever going to be changed, though.

@Rob3008 There's one section of the game about halfway through that can be annoyingly difficult due to the prolonged lack of a save point, but other than that, the game's really not too tough. Like @JaxonH said, it provides a very balanced challenge. It's not too tough to where you'll be fighting bosses over and over again; it's just enough to keep you on your toes at times.

@StarPoint I'm trying to work out which section you mean with the save point drought? I've always thought if anything there were a couple too many save points but maybe I am just misremembering.

@JoeM103 There's a pretty long stretch in Phazon Mines before you reach the Power Bomb that lacks a save point for quite a while. That's one of the few times I actually died in that game on Normal difficulty due to a lack of save points and resources.

Finished fire emblem engage, and now I'm waiting patiently for my copy. Could be a while though.

@StarPoint ahh yes of course, because the only save point is right at the start of the mines. When I last did a hard mode run through I did die to the drone in the Power bomb room (I wanna say generator room but that's probably wrong).

I haven't played the remaster just yet as I'm waiting for my pre-order to arrive, but when I saw the direct I was really hoping they had added some online gameplay. I have loved this game for so long and always wanted it. I know MP2 had multiplayer but I never really liked it all that much.

Has anyone in the States gotten a physical copy yet? The Gamestop I pre-ordered a copy at doesn't have them yet allegedly.

@ElRoberico I'm hopefully due to get mine today. I preordered it from Best Buy the day it was announced. It hasn't shipped yet but it's going through the packaging process.

@StarPoint I pre-ordered from Amazon initially until they told me that it would come in March now. I cancelled it, and moved it to Gamestop since I'd be off today and could play.

But then I go at opening, and they tell me they haven't gotten it in yet.

Cotillion

I just got my physical copy from Gamestop (Canada).
They only had 1 copy to sell, so I immediately took it. It wasn't even on the shelf, I had to ask them about the game. They said they only had one because they were short shipped and the rest was delayed. The few other copies they had actually gotten were being held for pick up from pre-orders.

@ElRoberico That's really annoying. Strange how scarce the physical copies seem to be.

@StarPoint I think the supply was much less than the demand. Maybe Nintendo thought more people were going to immediately buy the digital one instead of waiting for the physical.

@Raiko Yeah some of the concept art actually shows doors in the background that look how they do in-game. Pretty sure it's intentional and not a mistake.
