Just a thought, but if these courses are essentially pulled from Mario Kart Tour, will they have anti-gravity sections? None of them appear to have any in the trailer.
I would like more SNES tracks, there are only two this far, one of each type: Mario, Ghost, Bowser, Choco, Bowser, Koopa, Vanilla. From the other games:
I wouldn't mind if Mario Kart added events like Splatfests on Splatoon; Adding custom tracks, or adding the nighttime dance club lighting effects on current tracks. That whole Splatfest vibe treatment was great.
@Banjo- The SNES tracks are underrated in my opinion, Some of them sucked but they sucked because of the SNES tech at the time, some of those stages would work so much better in the current setting.

What do people think about the possibility of new cups?
I love Mario Kart, and have played it religiously since the original game. However, I bought MK8 on the Wii U at midnight on launch day, the DLC immediately, and MK8D at midnight on launch day.
I don't play online so right now the game has left me behind. Cups would bring me back in.
I wonder if there will be a later announcement where they introduce new drivers and karts? I won't be complaining if they don't though, 48 new tracks is great!!
I think there is a chance they will as to unlock the gold kart skin you have to win all the cups, maybe they will do a diamond one or something?
Just give me those glorious new tunes. Coconut Mall sounds fantastic and I really want to hear Choco Mountain and perhaps even Tour songs. I LIVE off of Mario Kart music.

@norwichred Depends what you mean by new cups. If you mean being able to play groups of 4 tracks in Grand Prix mode then that's pretty much already confirmed. Meanwhile if you mean non-retro courses being added to MK8 Deluxe like the Wii U DLC had tracks like Super Bell Subway, then that's already deconfirmed (all 48 tracks DLC tracks for MK8 Deluxe are from past Mario Kart games).
@WoomyNNYes That is kinda weird that we're not friends on Switch. So used to playing RL with you that's prolly why XD. But yea we gotta get each other added! It's cool we're getting 48 more courses which is crazy, even some Mario Kart Tour level. I still want other Nintendo characters in a Karting game though.. I see you guys been doin some time trials.. I would not even, I'd get obliterated. I think it'd still be amazing if we can all set up a day we can all play together, sheesh, of course I'd be streaming but w/e, still fun.
@1UP_MARIO The trailer showed the first eight tracks. I think only two of them are from Mario Kart Tour, the others are from MK7, Mario Kart DS, and other consoles.
48 DLC race tracks im sure is nice if youre a hardcore videogame racing fantatic but 48 race tracks is too many in my opinion. Whos gonna keep track of every race track in the game anyway?
I dont even play racing game that much anyway and even if its a Mario racing game, i do think 48 more tracks is just too many.
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe already has enough in game race tracks anyway

@1UP_MARIO To be fair, even tracks like Shroom Ridge will probably be made to be compatible with both 8 and Tour. No point in not making work as efficient as possible. I'd expect all these tracks to be available in Tour sooner or later.
That said? I do hope we get all of Tour's unique courses in this pass so I can play them with working controls. Ideally, the courses will switch between variants with each lap, but I'd take even a single variant of each.
@link3710 I think Tour had a LOT of extremely interesting ideas, characters and tracks that did not get much attention, hopefully many of Tour's tracks do get ported
