Topic: Mario Kart 8 Deluxe

Well welcome back old friend I guess. Gonna be redownloading this on Switch 2 now cause world is ruined for me. In the words of a wise man, thanks Nintendo!

I just wanted to say this real quick: Now that I've put in a decent amount of time with World, I've come to conclusion that 8 is the better game by far. Does anyone else feel the same way? 8 is still peak Mario Kart IMO. There's stuff I like about World, but a lot I do not like either. Frankly I'm a little disappointed considering we waited a literal decade(!) for the follow up to 8 and this is what we got..

I will say that if you could do traditional 3 lap races online I would like World quite a bit more. Hopefully at some point they will update the game so we can do that.

I played Mario Kart 8 online racing yesterday on switch 2, and it was marvelous compared to Mario Kart World. It was amazing. Drift boosting mattered, my lines mattered, and my position in the race reflected my knowledge of the track and using my drift boost a split second before the other players mattered. It was actually fun. And MK8 is STILL the only mario kart on Switch/Switch 2 with small battle course maps that work for couch multiplayer.

I'm not sure Mario Kart World will ever be redeemed because, the fixes & solutions may be too destructive to the original vision & concept of Mario Kart World.
