@Blooper987 Have you downloaded the DLC from earlier and updated the game to version 2.0.0? If yes to both, there isn't anything you can do now. I don't think it matters if you use a Japanese account, you'll likely have to wait until tomorrow to play the DLC courses.

@Blooper987 The switch won't let me access the MK8 dlc with my japanese account either. Maybe in the case of the MK8 dlc, the system sees that we connect to internet via US servers, and blocks the content based on that factor. That's my guess. (still doesn't work if wifi is disabled.)
I'm guessing nobody else can play the dlc before their regional timezone with a foreign account (unless they've done some special hackery).
I think America is getting the DLC later than Europe/Australia, NoA twitter clearly states "tomorrow" but converting the Europe/Australia time into various America times would all be today.
Just played Paris Promenade and really liked how they handled the different routes. The start of the third lap definitely felt quite unique with you going in the opposite direction as other racers.
@MarioLover92 Yeah same here. It's weird that the timing is so different; I thought these things were usually synced up. I guess I can wait another 24 hours, though.

Xenoblade Chronicles X Definitive Edition (Switch)
Balatro (PC)
@MarioLover92 Ditto. Eastern US, can't play the mk8 dlc. Tried with my japanese account, too. No dice. Let the waiting game begin for an undetermined time.
Just played Ninja Hideaway for the first time (missed the tour in MK Tour) and that is definitely the best new track in Tour and probably one of the most unique tracks in the entire series.
After playing through all 8 tracks in 50cc, here's how I would rank them:
I had fun on all of them and they all seemed to work well. Having the route change in Paris Promenade and Tokyo Blur was a nice addition that helped make the tracks feel better than they did in ML Tour.
I know racing on higher CCs is obviously going to be harder, but just wanted to focus more on the tracks themselves with the slower speed.
@StarPoint Yeah, it is pretty odd for sure. I was kind of hoping that I'd be able to play the DLC now because of what's been happening today, lol. And I didn't want to make a brand new account with a different region just to play it early. I guess I can wait until tomorrow as well, we'll start playing the DLC sooner or later.

I think they split up the regions because every Smash DLC fighter killed the eshop and that was all regions at once. MK8 Deluxe has a much larger playerbase than Smash Ultimate so everyone all at once could've been Pokemon Bank on Christmas Day 2013 levels of eshop problems.
I love all the new courses and the music is sensational <3 I was worried about the different art style but actually really like the more cartoony and less realistic look, makes it feel like the Mario Kart of old.
@StarPoint@gcunit In the US, changing region in system settings to australia doesn't give access to dlc. Just tried. I'm giving up on checking here in the US.
@WoomyNNYes Yeah looks like we'll have to wait until tomorrow. @Grumblevolcano has a point, I remember when Joker came out in Smash Ultimate, there was heavy traffic and I couldn't get to download as soon as I wanted to.
@TowaHerschel7 People are getting to play the DLC tracks early. Outside of the US, at least.
