People who have downloaded the update are getting this notice when trying to play the new courses

As I said, it seems the update is available but the courses still aren't playable.

So I installed the update; this is what it says: "You can play the new cups by purchasing the Booster Course Pass [Which I did] or signing up for Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack. For more details, visit the official Mario Kart 8 Deluxe website." Seems to maybe be some sort of error? I've bought and preloaded the DLC already, so it seems strange that the only prompt is for people to buy it.

The previews in game look a lot more promising than what we got from the trailer. I'm really curious how the courses really look in game playing it natively.

@StarPoint The download complete message for the DLC said "Ready to play on release" so at some point the DLC will be unlocked.

Wave 1 DLC file siz: 519mb.

I looked at file size before & after. And used math. Subtraction to be exact. Very advanced.🧐

@Fizza Niiiiice. I just got all of the 200cc tracks done yesterday as well. It took a long time since, on every attempt, I would get hit by something random on the last lap of the last course and be passed at the last second. But I persevered.

I like Turnip Cup, it has Super Mario Bros. 2 vibes, my favourite Mario game on NES.

Since January 2021 owner of my first real Nintendo "home" console.

@ophone You have good taste. My favourite of the cup names is probably the Rock Cup. It's not even the Rock Shroom Cup, it's just ROCK, it's amazing.

I've seen people online saying they haven't labelled Ninja Hideaway as a Tour track. I assume this is just a mistake and they'll update it eventually.

@Fizza Grumblevolcano was my biggest weakness for 200cc lighting cup, I wasn't that good with that track for 200cc. Once I got fast enough around the track, I'd get a lead big enough to deal with mistakes or getting hit. There are at couple spots where I found quicker lines that weren't that obvious to me initially. I imagine getting close to, or beating, the 200c time trial staff ghost should be a good target to getting fast enough to win 200cc races more easily. (I say that cautiously, because I recall a few 200cc staff ghosts are crazy hard, but I don't recall that being an issue with lightning cup tracks.)

For 200cc Lightning Cup, I used Luigi, pipe kart, azure rollers, paper glider.

@WoomyNNYes I am convinced MK8 Rainbow Road wasn't tested for 200cc since I would go flying off the track every time I dare thought about making a turn. It took a lot of attempts but eventually the Special Cup was completed (with my favourite character/kart combo no less: Shy Guy, Flame Rider, Monster Wheels and Plane Glider).

Also, I love how, if you get a star on every single cup, the title screen changes. I never knew how that worked until now and I LOVE IT (Luigi Kart EEEEEEEEEEEEIGHT!).

@Fizza Yeah, I have to go heavy on the brakes sometimes on Lightning Cup Rainbow Road to avoid flying off. It's disorienting how the track and camera twist around, and I have focus harder to look farther down the track to be ready for those screwy turns. And those damn music note balls!

@Fizza The rainbow road on that cc is EXTREME. I go for the lowest speed in a kart as possible and take SHARP brake drifts. I still sometimes fall, though.

I'm trying to use my Japanese account to play the new dlc but it's not working. Is there any special things I have to do when opening the game or is the physical cartridge not able to be played from a Japanese account?
