@MarioLover92 to be fair it seems the DLC is going live sometime between 9:00 PM on Thursday - 12:00 AM on Friday across all regions. So it'll probably go live at 9:00 PM PDT / 12:00 AM EDT in the states.
@WoomyNNYes
I'm not really hyped with current Switch games at the moment as I felt a change in my gaming hype during pandemic. I slowly switched back to PlayStation guy like before and think more about getting the upcoming 3rd party multi console games on PS4 / PS5 version instead of Switch version. However, even I have decided to pick the upcoming 3rd party multi console games PlayStation version, I still have more games on the list for Switch if I compared between Switch and PS3 / PS4 / PS5.
Looking at Mario Kart 8 Deluxe DLC, I was excited too but I don't have same enthusiasm like before. My enthusiasm with Switch games currently is slowly decreased like I don't really have same appetite to get Switch games like 3 years ago as I thought the PlayStation version of the same games have better performance even for unpopular games. It was very strange feeling after I got some hype from ACNH in year 2020 and 2021 but suddenly I don't really have the fire to continue the hype. I still have honest thought that PS4 / PS5 have better game boxes design than Switch in term of collectible items.
Maybe god delayed Mk8 dlc because I should be doing 8 minute abs workout instead.๐ค
@Anti-Matter Regarding playstation, I don't blame you. I want another console, but can't decide between PS5 or Xbox series X. Both consoles have games I want, but I'm not desperate enough to want to pay $500 (US) yet. I think the xbox one got a decent price drop a year after it released. I was hoping that would happen for seires X, but with the semiconductor shortage, i bet it won't happen this time.
@MarioLover92 LOL, I got destroyed by weapons in those races.๐ People couldn't shoot their weapons at me fast enough. LOL. I'd start passing people, then, get hit with with a weapon. Then, when I wanted to change from pipe kart to biddy buggy(out of desperation), MK8 never gave the option to change my kart build. As soon as the track selection page opened, I hit Y, but the game wouldn't let me go to kart/parts. Couldn't even say "Not fair!".
edit: Actually, I missed an item box once or twice because the boxes didn't regenerate quick enough, leaving me with no defensive weapons. So, I'm pleased to see in NL's article patch notes for MK8 2.0.0; They say they have shortened the item box regeneration time.
Just finished the new cups in grand prix, and I beat all the staff ghosts in 150cc time trials. Overall it's a pretty good selection of courses, and all the remixed music is awesome! While the graphics are indeed more simplistic compared to the base game, they're still fun to race on. Paris Promenade and Tokyo Blur are my favorites of the bunch! I like Shroom Ridge too, that was a favorite of mine from Mario Kart DS.
Potential spoilers for the DLC tracks.
I did not expect Paris Promenade and Tokyo Blur to change up the route like that, that was actually a really cool and clever idea to spice up the race. Then again, I didn't play much of Mario Kart Tour, which may be the reason why these tracks took me by surprise like that. However, the only track I'm kind of disappointed in is Coconut Mall. It's still an enjoyable track and it's largely the same, but I really don't like how the cars in the end don't move...they made that part too easy now. Ninja Hideaway is surprisingly tough, especially near the end. I got stuck on one of the wooden poles holding the ramp, and it's quite easy to fall in the second-to-last turn.

Favorite game: Super Mario 3D World
AKA MarioVillager92. Ask if you want to be Switch friends with me, but I want to get to know you first. Thanks! โค๏ธ
@WoomyNNYes The Xbox One also wasn't selling well thanks to their always online policies and such in the earlier days of it's life span. Also the price drop was because of the removal of the Kinect sensor that was originally bundled with the Xbox One.

I personally don't care that the cars don't move anymore. Still a really fun track!
The Tokyo and Paris courses in Tour (as well as most, if not all, the city courses in Tour) have different versions that they have essentially combined to make the routes in the DLC.
I agree with the about Ninja Hideaway. I never played the tour with that course so it was new to me and it is definitely a challenging course.
Overall, I'm happy with all of the new courses. There isn't a single one I would remove. Even Toad Circuit is a fun course, probably one of the best of the simpler courses.
Shroom Ridge and Ninja Hideaway 200cc staff ghosts are brutal, apart from those I've fully completed the wave 1 DLC in single player (3 star gold on GP cups and beating staff ghosts in both 150cc and 200cc). The most use of the DLC tracks I will have is naturally playing online when they enter the rotation on March 22nd (March 21st in America so it'll be early morning on the 22nd in the UK).
I know I said about anti-gravity beforehand hand, but upon playing the courses, none of them actually need it so I'm actually happier they didn't feel the need to force it in.
After spending a fair amount of time with the tracks, there's only 2 things that bother me:
1. Coconut Mall doesn't feature Miis anymore (similar to the Switch Sports situation, it just feels wrong that Switch Sports doesn't have Miis as the default character)
2. Sky Garden's track layout is very different from the original GBA version, it's more a re-imagining than a remaster
Overall though I'm very happy with wave 1 and can't wait for waves 2-6.
