Ya, not every game is native 4k, but some are. Usually the less demanding games or remasters.
Either way, it all looks marginally better beyond 1080p to me. In fact, I can't tell the difference between native 4k and upscaled to 4k whatsoever. I tested toggling 1080p and 4k in Rise of the Tomb Raider, and all I really noticed was the rug on the floor, the pattern showed up sharper.
So I mean ya, while I do appreciate the advantage of sharper carpet designs and all, when it comes to stacking it up against meaningful advantages (such as those offered on Switch) it's just not enough to sway me. And I know some other games benefit more, but even so, at the end of the day it's something I categorize as a small, nifty benefit. Gladly take it when offered, but would never choose it over a play anywhere version (especially one tailor crafted with motion and touch and HD Rumble and all that).

@Grumblevolcano I was playing Bound, FIFA 2017, The Last of Us, Rez Infinite and The Witness in a native 4K resolution on my PS4 Pro at launch last November.
Don’t you get tired of spreading misinformation around?
p.s. It is nice to see the Switch get this game by the way! There’s probably only a 0.01% chance of Grand Theft Auto V being ported over however, it would be a good move if Rockstar Games gave it a serious thought.
@Peek-a-boo I honestly didn't recall any 4K gaming stuff for PS4 Pro, sure there's HDR but that isn't 4K gaming it's just a technique that applies to screens in general.
I'm not interested in this game, but if I was, I would buy the PS4 version over the Switch one. Portability isn't a draw for me, considering I haven't taken my Switch out of its dock in like a month, and I don't really care about little gimmicky stuff like HD rumble support. While the graphics and facial animations are good for their time, the game is showing its age, and the characters kinda look like they're made of clay or something. A new coat of paint would do it well.
@Tsurii That's because they actually captured real people's faces. Quite expensive, but pretty revolutionary for its time. I can't think of any other game that does facial animations like LA Noire.
Wow, after watching that trailer I gotta say, this game looks amazing. I wish they were releasing a special edition for Switch- I'd be all over that.
@KirbyTheVampire
I wouldn't call having better rumble a gimmick. All consoles use rumble technology to enhance the experience, and nobody would claim rumble is a gimmick. So I don't think having a better, improved rumble is a gimmick either. Either the entire concept of rumble is a gimmick or none of it is. So I could understand if you were addressing rumble in general , but singling out a better, improved version of it makes little sense to me. Same would go for motion- I've found motion to enhance Zelda, enhance Splatoon 2, Arms, and I'm sure Skyrim. We are a long ways from the gimmicky Wii days... motion is actually a great benefit now (because it is used to subtly enhance rather than take center stage). I think the same can be said for touch. I hated touch on the Vita, but on 3DS it's been fantastic. Subtle enhancement.
