Topic: Joy cons moving by themselves

So I had the switch for a year now and it has not happen until now. When i play mario cart, the cart goes backwards without me touching the buttons. Its annoying when I play online and it does that. When I play splatoon or mario odessey the camera moves up by its self. I don't know what's happening and I don't want to buy new joy cons. If anyone has the same problem and knows how to fix it please respond .

@Kevin11 My Joy Cons do the same thing when they're not close enough to the Switch. It's like the signal doesn't reach so it just repeats the same input, so I get lots of spinning cameras, long button presses etc.

I find that it happens in some games more than others but I just need to be closer to my Switch and it stops. Playing with separate Joy Cons also seems to be worse than when it's in the grip. I don't know to properly fix it though

Do your hands sweat while playing games? In the past I have found that without regular cleaning sweat can get into game controllers and eventually mess them up. But since these are only a year old, at worst you might have to open and clean them.

BUT, before you do that, follow @2subpopz suggestion and resync and calibrate them.

Try this since it worked for me:
Take the rubber pad off the joycon, it doesn't require any special tools. After that simply used compressed air or blow on the opening and make sure to do the same to the rubber pad inside part. Dust and other things can somehow build up and make their way in there surprisingly. After I did this the controller stopped randomly moving me forward in XC2.

Sounds to me like your Joy-Con are possessed. Call your local priest/sheikh/yoga instructor to perform an exorcism and retreat in prayer until he arrives.
