No confirmation other than the fact that VC titles will be available via their paid subscription service, and that previous purchases may be able to be carried over, presumably with an upgrade fee similar to how Nintendo handled purchases of Wii U VC titles. There will probably be a handful of titles available at launch, but like the Wii U, I strongly doubt that the Switch will launch with a comprehensive VC library. I'd love to be proven wrong though.
Porygon did nothing wrong.

The only hint at a VC is through their paid online service. They said that one of the perks you get for paying for online is that you will get a free NES or SNES game to play for a month. Other then that there really hasn't been a word.

How would VC games be playable with the joy cons? I hope they don't make us buy the overpriced pro controller to play any VC games.
Seems there's 10 buttons on each Joycon (anolog stick presses in), not including that Home and Share buttons. NES had 4, SNES had 8, N64 had 10, Gamecube had 10, so no problems for all past Nintendo controllers.
@Honelith But the GameCube controller had 2 analogue sticks and had analogue triggers whereas the JoyCons only have one analogue stick each and digital triggers, so that would prove a problem.

If virtual console will be available on Nintendo Switch, it will finally provide the opportunity to play N64 and GC games on the go - something that I am very excited about. And it would be awesome if users could port or transfer their already purchased VC games on Wii or WiiU onto their new Switch. However, this is something that I would not hold my breath for. What I can say is that the massive potential for the ability to play all sorts of retro games on the go with the Switch will leave people like me who own a standard 3DS XL uninterested in the NEW 3DS XL with its SNES-VC games.
The pro controller doesn't have any extra buttons on it either, so you won't be "forced" to use it
The Pro Controller has the much beloved D-pad.....something not present on the Joy Cons. No one wants to play VC games using analog sticks, esp NES games. I know I dont.
I have pretty much given up on VC... It's very frustrating to thnk about what it is vs. what it could be. Question for some of you smarter people: is it THAT hard to publish games on VC? I mean, once you have the emulator for a specific console, ot should be simple to add new games. Why do they take so long?
Joy Cons are perfect for all past Nintendo VC. Let's not forget that they are motion controls too so in theory will replicate Wiimote and nunchucks for Wii VC

They 'made' a new custom emulator for every VC game released on Wii/Wii U to make it work exactly like the original. So somehow they weren't able, or were reluctant to use, one engine/emulator. Kind of funny that the quality on the new NES Classic Mini is so much better, while that does seem to use the same (but new) engine/emulator for all the games. But that probably has something to do with the platform it is built on, PowerPC vs x86 architecture?
Still a shame the old VC weren't actually that good with the dark and blurry image a lot of the time. Maybe this will change now on the Switch with a different pc architecture that can perhaps do NES Classic Mini type of VC. Although that could than maybe be too suspectible for hacks once again (while I love this option on the Mini NES, I wouldn't want to mess with my Switch once I get one eventually).
2 weeks to go from Friday. Still waiting on some kind of announcement/reveal Nintendo....
I will be giving up my pre-order if no further details are provided by launch. I just can't justify blindly buying a product that has so many unanswered questions. I can't shake the thought that if Nintendo had exciting information to announce, they would have already done so. It feels like they are hiding yet another lackluster account/digital implementation behind their veil of secrecy.
