I tried New Leaf on the 3ds and it was a pretty boring and repetitive game with a kiddie design. How do people, grown men at that, even enjoy such a game? I personally think it's a game for kids and teen girls.

I am a 35 years old man but can enjoy the kiddie game of Animal Crossing New Leaf 3DS. More over, i have been playing for 6 years with more than 1560 hours gameplay. 😉
The key to enjoy the game like that is :

1. Don't treat this game like Action games. Animal Crossing is like Slow Ballad song that will cater on peoples who likes Less Violence games, Relaxing gameplay without thinking too fast, Playing with your brain by mix and match the design. If Action games like Metal Rock song, this game is a Slow Ballad.

2. Try to consider the chores as the Mission to do. Instead of hunting for enemies like in Action games, try to make small goals such as getting more native fruits, getting more furnitures, more clothing, participate in event and etc. You might felt awkward to see less action to do but that the key in this game. I know you confused what should you do next. Try to imagine like daily chores. By the time play like daily chores, you will eventually digging in the game.

3. The repetitive chores such as shaking the trees, selling the items, talking with villagers, getting more things are actually can be fun. Just imagine those chores as getting Trophy completion and soon you will digging in the game.

4. Find who is your favorite Animal villagers. By try to get them stay on your town, you have already did the repetitive chores in fun way.

Well, i was sceptical before playing this game but after several weeks i played, i was crazy in love with this game.

You have a very shallow view of the game. For most of us we grew up with Animal Crossing, for some of us this was our world when we were kids. I grew up on Animal Crossing Wild World for the Ds and the graphics were insane for a handheld system. I was probably in 5th grade when i started playing, my parents were never around and I lived in the country so I couldn't go play with the neighborhood kids.

Thing is Animal Crossing is a brand new experience, one that allows you to explore, catch bugs and fish, improve your village, and play with your friends. It's a simulation type game, one that has a charming art style and different things that occur. I couldn't tell you how hyped I was when I shot a ufo out of the sky and got a METROID for it. A Freakin Metroid! Animal Crossing games are for people that want to unwind and just enjoy the charm of the game. Honestly, sometimes I get so stressed out when I play Dark Souls or smash bros that I enjoy just pulling out animal crossing and catching some fish. It scratches a certain itch. However, it's sort of like stardew valley without crops

For you to state how are "grown men" supposed to enjoy this game just shows me that you have a shallow view on people's opinions. Not every game needs to be what you consider to be an adult game. I personally am very excited and the only games I have been playing recently are From Software games as I picked up sekiro out of my backlog when I saw it won game of the year.

This is what clickbait Trolls would post. Grown men knows when to have fun and see their feminine side. But guess some refuse to admit to this over and over and so this would be truth to them.

The visuals are fine in my opinion. I played the GameCube and the 3DS game and New Leaf has a lot of improvements, additions and looks much better. However, I also think that Animal Crossing is a very limited game, you don't do much and what you do is done in a really simple way. It's nice for relaxing some minutes a day (New Leaf is perfect for that, I haven't played the DS game) but it has never hooked like Viva Piñata, a really superb and underrated game.

When you become a well-adjusted adult, you'll stop seeking affirmation of your own maturity through your entertainment choices and open yourself up to a broader range of entertainment options.

Anyway, the games are very relaxing and chill experiences that integrate well into a daily schedule. That either resonates with you or doesn't.
