There was a surprise announcement today, a game called Huntdown is being released on the 12th May. The initial reveal was a few years back, i think it looks great!
I have been following this game since 2016. I thought the company had gone belly up since there was no activity on their website for nearly a year and a half. This was a pleasant surprise announcement. Hope it turns out as good as it looks.
Still waiting for some reviews to come out. Looks amazing but I'm going to hold off pulling the trigger until I get some assurance it's not a steaming pile of ***** with an awesome trailer.
@DevlinMandrake Agreed. The review silence suggests an embargo is in place, meaning this will be either dreadful or absolutely phenomenal. Hoping it's the latter as it looks superb!

I really hope it's not a review embargo. There's never a good reason for that. Hopefully it's something more human like a cock-up with getting the review copies out or reviewers being so addicted to the game they've spontaneously mutated and are now forming a really cool mutant gang with really cool mutant names.
FYI - I got this response from the Devs on their Discord channel yesterday, when asking about Switch performance:
"Note: Unlike the other platforms Switch will not have rumble functionality at launch, this is being worked on. Ultimately the goal is to get the experience on all devices as similar as possible. A side note on that is that Switch Lite does not have rumble and will therefore never have that functionality. There might be other things I have overlooked. Hope you will enjoy the game!"
Ah, the Daily Star, surely the gold standard of videogame (or any other) journalism. In the defence of that reviewer though, he does mention Rolling Thunder which is one of my all-time favourite old-school games. no mention of Blackthorn from anyone though, even though the whole "stepping into shadows" mechanism seems lifted from that classic.
Also, the GameReactor dude mentioned Ana Conda as being inspired by Ellen Ripley/Sarah Connor. Which is odd because she's clearly the black female Snake Plissken (and all the more awesome because of it).
Good to see it getting great reviews though. As soon as I can pry the Switch from my son's hands I'm going to download it.
@MarioBrickLayer Looks very promising! Still awaiting a review on the Switch version though. If it's rock solid 60 FPS on Switch, I'll be throwing cash at the screen

The Daily Star review (I know, but bear with me) is positively glowing, the guy seems to know his onions, and it mentions at the bottom that it was reviewed on Switch. Not sure about the framerate, but that's not something that particularly bothers me.
