Newly released rogue-like action-rpg game that has been very well received by critics and players. Have any of you tried it and how do you like it? I just bought it and have reaced the first "boss" a few times, seems awesome so far. Beautiful graphics and voice acting. Let me hear your thoughts and experiences in game so far!
Would definitely recommend for arpg and roguelike fans!

So very interested in this, but I'm holding out for a physical release. >,<

Just bought this, as I know I'm going to want to play it soon. I'm finishing ori and the blind forest first, though. This game seems too much fun to not have at the ready.

Just waiting for the inevitable physical release.

Really loving it so far. I'll probably double dip for a physical edition if it gets one in the future. I've made it to the boss of the third area so far. I keep worrying it'll get stale but I'm still seeing new things after/during every run. It feels pretty similar to The Binding of Isaac, but so far I'm liking it much more than Isaac, which is saying a lot considering I put at least 100 hours into that game.

Yeah, love it. Still not quite up with my indie faves on the console but certainly on its way

I’ve reached Meg a few times now but haven’t beaten her. Yet. Looking forward to seeing where the game goes from there - don’t even know if she stays beaten or I’ll have to keep fighting her like the bosses in Dead Cells

I still prefer Hades in the movie Hercules tho.

Bought it with Will of the Wisps. Gonna finish the other first then get to this. Bastion is one of my favorite small games of all time, so I'm pumped.

Just escaped for the first time. I was stuck on the boss of the third section for a few runs, but I managed to get a really overpowered kit and was able to easily push through that boss and everything afterwards. I'm still excited to continue playing even after beating it once, so that's a great sign.

I would highly recommend gifting Eurydice some nectar to get her keepsake ASAP. It helps a ton for bosses, especially if you're still learning their patterns.

Been waiting for it to release on Switch for ages and bought it the moment it came out but only got around to starting it yesterday. Really enjoying it so far. Not very good at it yet but escaped once thanks to being carried by a HP regen boon.

@BenAV Is that the hammer upgrade that lowers your max HP by 60% but regenerates 2 HP with each hit from your attack? I got that once in one of my first runs and it carried me to the third boss, but I didn't pick up many health upgrades so the boss managed to basically 1-shot me. It seems to be a weapon upgrade exclusive to swords too since I haven't seen it for any other weapon, but I could be wrong about that.

My first clear was with one of the modified bows using titan blood. It makes it so your attack puts a target on an enemy and all of your special shots seek out that enemy. I got a ton of really complimentary boons for that playstyle and was dealing out thousands of damage in seconds. Would recommend trying out that weapon!

@Cynas Nope, I had that one on another run and made it to the final boss for the first time but got my butt kicked when I got there. The one that I won with is the Duo Boon 'Stubborn Roots'. Regenerates 1 HP every 0.8 seconds (during combat) when you have no Stubborn Defiance left. Turned a crap run into an automatic win. Finished the final boss with full HP.

@BenAV Ah wow haven't seen that one yet! Definitely seems really powerful. I've still only found one Duo boon so far, which just hastens how often hangover deals damage.

You guys are doing well then... I still haven’t beaten Meg /o

... getting closer though

Cynas

@Murbs Keep at it! If you haven't already you should get a Death Defiance perk from the mirror in your bedroom, it helps a lot.

Played it for a few hours today. I really love the art style, but the game gets pretty repetitive pretty fast. And the permanent upgrades are mostly not too great to be an incentive to keep going. I wish there was more to do besides grinding through the same enemies over and over again. Am I missing something here, or is this maybe just not my type of game? Never played a rouge-like before.

On my list for sure! So is Ori and the crab game. Just have too much to play.

Today I played it again for a few hours and got to the Hydra. I have to say, it's beginning to grow on me. Let's see how long the excitement lasts.

Finally beat Meg! As expected, when I eventually did, it felt very easy and I had a ton of life left without even having used my bonus life.
I was my own worst enemy in the next few levels though, kept dashing into lava 😒
