Topic: Graphic issue with Nintendo Switch while in dock mode?

Hello i have been playing zelda breath of the wild the last few days and am worried there is an issue with my Nintendo switch or Zelda breath of the wild game.

when playing in dock mode the grass and link himself seem a tad pixelated, is this just how the game is set out or does this sound like an issue with either my switch or game?

Cheers

Hi. I don't have this problem.
Playing in dock seams a bit "overpowered", slows down when you are in forest and it starts raining, but no pixelation.
Try to change your HDMI settings. Try what will change, if you use other resolution and color palette.

Dear Koapa
Thanks for the reply!

I have a worrying suspicion something may be up with the machine or game, i have tried using it on two different tv's one at 50 inc and one at 22 and still getting the same issue.

It is possible its completely fine and i am just looking too deeply but i assume the only way i will be able to tell is when a new game comes out with different graphics annoyingly!

thanks x

Hi @geheja have you tried changing the display mode for the TV option? Try changing it from automatic to 1080?

@ProjectX1991 I will give that a go tonight! i will try to take some screen shots and post them so i can get your opinion on it!

It is only really on the grass so i feel like it might just be how the game is designed with the light, movement from wind etc...

But with walls and buildings its completely fine so it easily could me just looking into it too much!.

appreciate it bud!

My friend has a similar issue as well. I asked him about changing resolutions and apparently that didn't work.

A quick search seems to indicate that the PS4 had a similar problem. Apparently, it's due to the TV not having the right firmware (in the PS4 case). Maybe you can check the firmware on your TV and get back to us?

@Ernest_The_Crab Do you feel it could be a possible issue with some of the switches seeing as it has happened to your mate? i can see that they are having a few other issues with peoples consoles!

i will change some setting on my tv and hopefully that does the trick!

thanks alot cheers! x

Hrm... that's interesting. Is it just Link himself? That seems very specific.

@rallydefault @ProjectX1991 right, so i have seemed to fix the problem.

On my TV i feel like the brightness of the grass may have been too vibrant!

Causing the grass to look pix elated, i feel like there is nothing wrong with my actual console or game.

With my TV and i am sure all! you have 3 settings of how dark you want the screen i.e. Dynamic, Standard or movie mode.

I put it on the middle setting and the screen looks perfect now!

Is there anyway i can forward some images i took of it to you guys??

Thanks for all the help guys really appreciate it!

@geheja I believe there's an embed picture option for the site, unfortunately I don't remember how.

@geheja It's supposed to be there. There's no AA in BOTW, causing straight angles to look pixelated. 900p doesn't scale very well to your 1080p TV either (assuming that's what your set-up is).
