Hello,

I just bought a new Nintendo Switch and The Ninjago Movie Video Game that has a Download Code
inside it.

Both are purchased from a local store in Saudi Arabia, I have created an account and chose Saudi Arabia as the region.

When I try to open eShop, I get an error saying that the Region is not supported. Then I changed to United States and the eShop opened, but when I try to redeem the Download Code for the game, it says that the code doesn't work with the selected region.

Not sure what am I doing wrong

Look at the game cartridge to see what region it is. There will be a string of letters and numbers along the bottom of the label that will end with something like "EUR" or "USA", that tells you what region it is. Then redeem the code in that region's eShop.

There's no game cartridge inside, just a code to download the game.

But thanks for letting me know about it because I just saw "EUR" on the paper that has the code on.

OK, then I'd make a UK account to download it. Any other European country would work too, but if you choose UK it will all be in English.

@YeahBuddy Redeem codes can be region locked. So, you have to have your nintendo account region set to the region that will accept the code. After you're successfully redeemed the code, your nintendo account account owns the game, and it doesn't matter if you change your your nintendo account region later.

Even though the switch is not region locked, Nintendo Support does say that if you buy DLC, the region you buy the dlc much match the region you bought the game.

*Note: Nintendo account region dictates your eshop region. If you change your nintendo account/eshop region AND you have any unspent/leftover money on your eshop you will lose that money. And you can't get the money back. So just be sure you dont' have any unspent money on your eshop if you're going to change a region. Otherwise, you're free to use whatever eshop region suits you, granted you can pay with the currency native to that region. Example Japan eshop only accepts Yen. US eshop only accepts US dollar.
