So my son and I our new to the Nintendo switch. We are having major problems with Fortnite. He created his first ever Fortnite account the day he got his switch; said he didn't link it to anything. He however used a weird number only name/id. It says it is linked to an Epic account but I don't know how or to what account. Is there a way to wipe this account out and start with his Epic account information? Never can get the game to log off. We have installed and reinstalled several times, never gives him the option to enter differnt user name. Would a factory reset help this. Help this very frustrated mom and son out PLEASE!!!!
@KJM2022 So your son created a epic account, and then it linked to some random other epic account? Or are you saying he created a user for Fortnite, and that got connected to an epic account?
Sorry that I’m having a bad time following.
Nintendo are like woman, You love them for whats on the inside, not the outside…you know what I mean! Luzlane best girl!
(My friend code is SW-7322-1645-6323, please ask me before you use it)
Sorry for not being active much recently, but I’m very much alive!
@Snatcher I know it's hard to explain. I have been trying to figure it out since Christmas. I have an Epic act. that I created, his Fortnite game on his switch shows an Epic account but not the one we created. I would like to have him on one format. I can't even log him out of Fortnite on his Switch to see if I can log him back in. Did I explain it better? It's so confusing
@KJM2022 Ok I think I know what happened, I think epic might have asked if you wanted to link your epic account, but this might have been skipped, and because of that, it made its own epic account.
Did it ask you anything when you first logged into the game? Or did it just let you in?
Edit: I think you should call epic and tell them what you told me, they can probably fix it, if not tell you what’s going on.
@Snatcher thats exactly what happened. I told him to just skip it and I would link it later. Not knowing that the Nintendo was difficult to navigate if you skip this step. Thank you so much for your help. I appreciate it. I will contact epic next!! Thanks again
@KJM2022 I know what you're talking about. When you're new to Fortnite(& Rocket League) the game will let you skip making an Epic Games account and go straight to playing. Don't do anything rash yet. I'd contact Fortnite support on Epic Game's website via Fortnite Support Contact page. I emailed them once before, and got a response within 2.5 hours, which is respectable.
