@StarPoint tbh I'd like to see them keep experimenting with new ways to move the series forward, while still maintaining grounded and likeable personalities. Echoes does that with its more RPG-esque design where you can travel through new towns, explore dungeons in 3D, complete sidequests, etc. Three Houses does that with its Persona-esque calendar-based progression structure, and the way it dramatically builds on the social sim elements of previous titles.
We'll have to see if Engage ends up feeling like it's doing anything to evolve the series, apart from the obvious bump in image quality and performance.
Do we know if Engage has multiple paths? I really like those type of mechanics
I remember there being rumours of like an almost Mass Effect style Renegade Paragon system which changes the protags hair (it starts as blue and red as that is their neutral state) and moral choices will send you down different branches and unlock new abilities unique to the dark, light or neutral path, but literally none of that was talked about in the previews. Maybe not surprising as the previews generally only cover the first ten or so hours and that is arguably not long enough to see these things take affect, but it also might be the rumours were a load of poo.
@Pizzamorg That does sound possible, but I feel like we maybe would have seen some mention of this mechanic in one of the trailers so far. Perhaps they’ve just decided to keep it as a surprise, though. That would be an awesome mechanic to implement, though, especially since most of the previews have mentioned Alear as just starting out as a blank slate.

@Magician I'm going to bet similar, but I think more. I think there's a really good chance that more people pick it up as a result of 3H. At the same time, I doubt any FE game surpasses 5 million units, so ¯(ツ)/¯

@Dom_31 aaaaaaahahaha that's so bad! I thought Three House's English dub was tolerable for the most part, and the English version of the main theme is pretty darn good.
But this... yikes. I'm not even gonna give the English dub a chance. JP all the way.

The heck does the menu theme have to do with "the dub"?
Goodness ppl nit pick anything to get their knickers in a twist. Well, I guess this is the Fire Emblem thread after all. What did I expect.

Three Houses had a... not amazing english version of the theme song (not half as cringy as this, mind), but the actual voice work was really strong. I expect the same will be true here.
By the way, that Cheshire Cat grin Alear has at one point is totally going to become a meme.

"No Fire Emblem has been this effective at triggering my voracious “one more turn” hunger since Fire Emblem 7, the first title of the series to grace Western shores back in 2003. In those days, gorgeous sprites did battle on 2D plains, and permadeath was compulsory. In almost every aspect, Engage is a powerful and conscious effort to evoke the nail-biting tactical demands of “classic” Fire Emblem. "

They dropped an English language trailer a while ago, I think it is a few pages back in this thread and the dub was truly awful in that trailer. Maybe in the full game it would be better, but I have absolutely no intention of playing this dubbed, based upon that trailer. Unless I can freely switch the languages? Then maybe I’ll try both.
At least in that trailer, the dub reminded me of the awful dubs people my age had to tolerate in the early 90s, rather than the generally much higher quality dubbing we’ve seen over the last ten or so years.

So, there was a line of Fire Emblem Genealogy of the Holy War figures in Japan that released about 10 years after the SNES game. It was titled "Series 1" but it ended up being the only series released.
I've known about these figures a long time. Idk why I never bought them. They're getting more and more expensive each year (now up to about $70-80 each). With the leaked remake of Genealogy of the Holy War, I imagine these things will either shoot way up in price, sell out and disappear, or both.
I was able to grab 4 of the 6 figures. The other 2 each have one listing but the sellers are asking like $150 and I'm not gonna pay that. I'll hold off and wait for new listings that are more in line with the 4 I bought.
There's also a secret 7th figure (originally these were sold in a blind box), but I haven't found any listing for that one yet. I plan to check back regularly to complete the set.
@Ralizah
I love Three Houses so much, but it was a bit of a different approach from classic FE. Not to say I prefer one over the other, but I am thirsty for Fates gameplay and maps- it's been too long. The team has proven they're willing to take risks and do new things. It seems like each entry is different from the last, which I very much like. Keeps FE from feeling stale.
