@Anti-Matter yeah they went with a Old Style, Shakespearean type way of speaking in this one and i think it actually works well for the style of the world
oh and if your having trouble with this version try playing the PS2 original because it was compressed a lot on there
"I pity you. You just don't get it at all...there's not a thing I don't cherish!"
"Now! This is it! Now is the time to choose! Die and be free of pain or live and fight your sorrow! Now is the time to shape your stories! Your fate is in your hands!
@Ralizah the voices were muffled on the PS2 original

@Ralizah oh right a bit of miscommunication, i meant that if he was having trouble with how they are now then he would never have been able to understand the PS2 version

@BruceCM I'm telling ya! That was a long ass ten minutes.
I also feel I'm up against it levelling my team as the enemies seem to go down rather easy.
Or is it just a particularly easy game?
Well, most of the random battles are.... On the other hand, half or so of the bosses are difficult But it's not just about levels, it's also what you're doing with sphere grid
@FullbringIchigo Ah, gotcha. I don't particularly remember the audio quality being terrible, but that's likely down to me being used to the lower standards of quality in that era, and the uniquely human tendency to play down unfortunate details in memory. I'm sure if I played it today I'd be shocked by how low quality the textures and sound files were. The best thing about these remasters is they allow us to play old games the way we remember them being.
I used to play the heck out of Spyro the Dragon (it's an easy game to beat over the course of a long afternoon or evening), but, when I returned to it on PS1 recently, I found it basically unplayable because of the camera controls being mapped to the shoulder bumpers. Which is funny, because I don't remember that at all, and it must not have stuck out to me when I played it and dual-stick gaming wasn't the universal standard for 3D games.
Currently Playing: Metroid Prime 4: Beyond (NS2); Corpse Factory (PC)
14 hours into FFXII. It appears as though I finally hit the grind wall. I'm making my way south of Giza and it's clear that I need to begin investing in a second job. The problem is that I'm not even slightly confident in the first choice of job for my characters. I want to get a feel for each job for I go mixing and matching, and that certainly could take a while.

@Dezzy I'm not sure I can agree with that advice. I recently played FF7 on the Switch. FF7 is not my favorite entry, but there's something about it (polygons and all) that looks warm, inviting, and magical that, to me, this new FF7 trailer doesn't offer. I wish they showed gameplay outside of Midgar.

Yeah they've only shown us Midgar, and they've mostly just showed us action segments.
Wait until we see some environments and exploration. Kalm, Cosmo Canyon, Junon, Nibelheim, Rocket Town. So many awesome places in the FF7 world, and we've still seen very little.
From the look of that trailer, I get the feeling a lot of the charm of VII will be lost in the 'realism' of the remake and the original will be good to have.
There's not much charm in the first 10 minutes of the original either. This trailer's not gonna be a good representative for the game as a whole.
