Ok rightey. No you can't play Stand by Me. I don't think it lets you play anything that's used in the main game. I guess the idea being that that would be like breaking the 4th wall too much. (music from other games counts as just 'music tracks' whereas music from the main game is supposed to be part of what's happening in some sense)

There are very few missables in the game. The vast majority of optional content in the game is part of the open-world section, which remains fully available until the end of the game. No areas become blocked off after you've been there, or anything like that.

The only important advice with FFXV is that you MUST play it with the DLC incorporated into the main game (which you have to do manually, the game doesn't insert the DLC for you, which it should have). The story was an unfinished mess at launch, but the gaps were largely filled in by the DLC that was released over the next 2 years.

Cruisin along in 7. Got off the boat, went to the beach town, got some stuff and im about to head West to the mountains. Doing pretty well thus far. Realized I missed the optional character but oh well.

You didn't miss her. You can find her on the western continent too.

Up to you if it's worth going back for her, @NintendoByNature .... She's some use in an upcoming battle, though

@Dezzy @BruceCM just roam the forests for her right? As long as she's after the beach town ill give it another crack.

As far as I'm aware, she should be in any forest, @NintendoByNature ... Just I got her in the 1st every time, so I can't confirm she is anywhere else if you missed her there I wouldn't bother getting her after that one fight where she is actually useful, myself, though, since that's the only time she's in my party

@BruceCM which fight are you referring to?

Why, what's your tactic .... ? I mean, you could get that skill from Midgar Zolom but it's easier to use Yuffie! It's the weird sea-snake thing that you can only hit with ranged weapons & so on?

Some people apparently like the character, @NintendoByNature.... The other optional one is much better, though

Lols, you can get him as well, @NintendoByNature .... Quite a bit later in the game! If you're not sure exactly how, look it up I still don't really use him in my party but he's a lot less annoying than the other one

Lols, @Ralizah.... We'll agree to disagree about that I'll say she does get some awesome weapons if you want to use her in the party, though

@BruceCM I also really like her sidequest in Wutai.

She's probably my second favorite party member after Tifa.

Well, at least you got Tifa in top place, @Ralizah ....

@BruceCM She has a great personality, and I always prefer brawler-type characters.

4) Cid
5) Barret
6) Red XIII
7) Vincent
8) Aeris
9) [insert picture of garbage]
10) Cait Sith

@Ralizah so far Barrett and Red XIII are my favorites. Red in a soldier suit 😂😂

@NintendoByNature That entire sequence on the ship was pretty funny. There's actually a lot of funny in that game. Have you been to the Gold Saucer yet?
