If I liked videogame football/soccer, I'd be definately sold on the quality on this title by now. It seems like the FIFA series has gone a long way and will receive an especially good version on Switch unlike the throwaway FIFA 13 for Wii U. But I need to play to see if it's fun for me before shelling out 60 bucks.
@Murph One way to look at it is, FIFA 18 on PS4 is just another FIFA in a long line of FIFA's and there will always be another one next year that's slightly better. On Switch however, this is the first time there's ever been a proper FIFA on handheld and really the first modern FIFA on a Nintendo console since the GameCube.There's no guarantee there will be one next year either so this might be a one off. The more people that buy the Switch version though will surely increase the odds of us getting another.
@Murph Yeah as @OorWullie said, if you already have a PS4 copy of FIFA 17 then I definitely recommend getting the Switch version of FIFA 18. It'll feel like a completely new experience with the portable gameplay, whereas PS4 FIFA 18 will barely have any major changes compared to the previous year.

Yeah, I can certainly understand your dilemma @Murph...my friend (an avid FIFA 17 player on X1) and I were having this conversation the other day, weighing up the pro's and con's of each - he said that he really liked The Journey, but after he played through it, he never touched it again - and he liked the idea of being able to play in handheld mode (like me, he has to share his TV with his girlfriend, so being able to go 'off TV' would be great) but he has an established group of friends that he plays FIFA with on Xbox, which'd be one of the big reasons that he'd be reluctant to switch to the Switch! ..now for me, personally, I never had FIFA 17, so a lot of that doesn't apply - and the hybrid nature of the Switch version is the big thing pulling me back in...especially because I can see myself regularly playing it on the bus, or the sofa if the main TV is in use - that flexibility is a huge selling point to me! ..but it all depends on your situation really, it's safe to say that both versions have their merits!
(...I realise that that probably didn't help much - it just depends on what you want to get out of your FIFA game, I guess! )

Visually looks nice and performance is great. Anyone who claims it's the same game as the PS360 game needs there eyes testing.
Still though I really not sure if I am gonna get it. Looking at the above video it still looks like typical FIFA. No midfield and just doesn't simulate football correctly.
Why is Muller so deep for the the CPU based bayern team. Positionally looks out of place.
Plus single player has always been garbage on FIFA as the CPU teams feel exactly the same.
Announcing Fe is coming to Switch at least shows EA aren't just releasing FIFA because they have to and calling it a day.For them to take an indie on,support and fund the devs and then handle marketing and pulishing,I think it's safe to say it's going to be a good one and way beyond what most indies could put out.Unravel was the first game of the EA Originals series with Fe and A Way Out coming early next year.If EA's support amounts to yearly FIFA's and indie games of that quality,I'll honestly be fine with that.If sales meet their expectations then more will come.
