I bought this game to hold me over until Mario Kart 8. Even though im not a fan of these spaceship racing games, I decided to get it for the 8 player online multiplayer. But every time I try I get an error message. I am able to download the snipperclips demo, tweet screenshots, and things like that, and testing the internet connection shows up fine. Has anyone encountered this and resolved it?
Also I do not see a tutorial for this game. I am not sure what the X switch button does, and how exactly the colored pathways work, and would like to read up on this stuff.
When racing the X button switches your exhaust between orange and blue. You have to match the color of your exhaust to the boost lanes on the racing tracks, before you go over it. If it matches you get a boost in speed, if not you will slow down instead.
There's a sort-of turtorial in the first championship cup about how the X button works. The loading screen and in the manual will also show you the controls. You'll get to grips to the controls in a few races. As for the online, I can't properly answer that... Maybe try again later?
Was Mariobro4. No, I'm not taking off my backpack...it's important.
When I first started the game, I couldn't find a control scheme I was comfortable with and found the game's pace to be too hectic. Now that I've started to adapt to its default controls, though, I'm actually warming up to it. Still, the enemy A.I. is brutally challenging even on the slowest mode. I've had a much easier time racing people online.
@Raiko I feel like there may be some rubber banding in this game that is a bit different from NEO. Crashing seems to be more forgiving I think, but sometimes when in first I randomly see them suddenly catch up with me or get ahead of me. Another reason for it could be due to the new boost stat. I generally prefer to use the vehicles with a faster speed which means it generally doesn't have as much boost speed.
Also had a computer catch up to me right at the end of this race.
Thankfully I still got first. (and so they got second and less points)
Fast RMX as a game is broken. As a tech demo it's great. As said above, AI is cack, the other racers are too close together. One false move and you're last. Absolutely no learning curve. Ships have little or no difference in speed, boost etc - doesn't matter which one you choose. Too much luck involved in avoiding obstacles (as you're going too fast to do anything about it). Online game is clown shoes. I am progressing through the game however due to a series of button bashes at strategic points on a lap as it doesn't seem to matter if you crash into the side rails. That may just be the game in a nutshell. Who play tests these things? Do they even get play tested anymore? Who knows.
