The eStore is leaves much to be desired, has there been any indication when we will start seeing classic titles like the old Mario's, Zelda's, Metroid... appear? I wonder will users who made said purchases on the WiiU be able to download them again at no cost or be forced to pay again for them.
VC is coming for sure,we just need to bide our time.If they were just planning to release old titles like they did in the past it would be on there already. We already know there will be a Netflix style rental system for NES titles and some games will have added online.I can't imagine it only being NES titles though.Whatever format it takes,it's likely we'll have to wait until the paid subscription arrives next year.
During E3,Reggie said that there could be something similar to the upgrade system on Wii U.Take from that what you will
The "upgrade system" was simply a thing where any VC games you have purchased in Wii mode, have a discount if you want to buy them on the regular eShop too.
When people will stop buying mini consoles and let them become the disastrous flop they deserves to be maybe Nintendo will get back to Virtual Console. I hope it will happen soon, but I'm afraid it won't
I used to be a ripple user like you, then I took The Arrow in the knee
I highly doubt the classic series mini consoles have anything to do with it.
It would be dumb for nintendo to stop selling their evergreen nostalgia tickets on demand because people bought all 15 nes minis and 20 snes minis they made.
They simply have different plans for them this time. And those plans involve making people wait. After all, people eat more when they build an appetite.
The elsewhere comment above is sad in fact it relates to a previous comment about 15 and 25 units produced. Sales of the RetroPie sky rocketed as a result of NES Classic demand and disappointment associated with it. I hope the RIP comment isn't accurate, seriously. I am sure the current WiiU OS plus letterbomb Wii Emulator is what most are doing but I just want to pay for it on the current generation hardware. Thanks everyone for chiming in, I have not been following the scene as closely as others.
