@SwitchForce LV99. Additionally you can farm stat items late-game to further increase stats as high as you like.
As for the demo I've played it extensively. I'll give a brief outline just to give an idea of what you can achieve in the demo:
All 6 recipes obtained, 8 Bunny Tail+3s equipped (agility boost and increase in item drop rate), all best equips at +3, got a Wizard's Staff+3 for Veronica, 2x Robber Gloves+3 (easier steals) for Erik. Erik knows the key skills Dual Wield, Cobra Strike and Victimiser (6x damage build) as well as Half Inch (not related to said build). Characters are at LV 20. Crafted +3 of all recipe items. Also got a couple of Thief Tatoos (strength boost) from the lone Ursa Minor bear on the mountain.
I'm all set up for plentiful loot drops throughout the game. Playtime a bit over 13 hours.
Hmm.. have to try that out to get those Lucky Rabbits foots (gloves). Bunny tails how does one get that? I haven't seen that one that I recall on the Demo? And those others am I use Erik to steal those?
Welp at 25 hours into the demo (I am just farming money) I’ll have to wait on the bunny tails. I am still trying to get a tough guy tattoo though.

That’s fine. I’m just playing until I stack 50k at the bank. I kill the ursa minor often but if I don’t get it I should still be over powered and financed for a while. Although I am going to take a break. Fire Emblem is getting good.

I do like the demo, but I don't know... the tone of this series has always been weird for me, and it's always kept me from really getting into these games. On one hand it sometimes seems like it wants to present a serious story, relationships, etc., but then on the other hand you're suddenly fighting silly-looking egg robots and smiley-face slimes and goblins that talk like Jar-Jar Binks. Dragon Quest games have always been this way without apology, and I applaud them for that, but it's also something that has always kept me away.
I mean, I love a lot of JRPGs of all sorts, and I don't need them to be super dark or anything, but it's just weird and I don't know if I can see myself doing almost 100 hours of it.
I don’t think the two are mutually exclusive. One of the things I like most about this game is how lighthearted and silly it can be, yet not at the expense of a genuine story and emotional pulls.
In fact, I’d say that’s it’s defining characteristic, and what draws me toward it most. Kind of like Ni No Kuni. My partner is a fairy with a bell on its nose, that was brought back to life after being an inanimate doll, yet the first 20 minutes of the game almost had me breaking down in tears.
Even Zelda fits the bill, in a way (though perhaps to a lesser extent).
I love games like this.
Psalms 22:16 (1,000 yrs before Christ)
They pierced My hands and feet
Isaiah 53:5 (700 yrs before Christ)
He was pierced for our transgressions
@JaxonH lol of course I was at work (no phones at Amazon) when you sent that. It’s cool. I had a voucher at nin nin and they had it in stock for 500 so my voucher covered the shipping. Thanks though.

I think this will be one of our disagreements.
To me, there is a difference between dissonance and lightheartedness. Lightheartedness fits with the world but gives it a subtle shake or smile, dissonance jars the world and even takes you out of the world temporarily.
Dragon Quest has always felt like Terry Pratchett's Discworld books to me. Some people love Pratchett, but personally I can't read him. Same thing with Hitchhiker's Guide. The silly/dissonant moments are just too silly/dissonant that they take away from whatever serious plot line the author was trying to develop simultaneously.
@Ryu_Niiyama
Ya it was up for like 30-40 minutes and then sold out again. I was almost tempted to order one for you (especially since you can typically edit the address and have them ship directly to someone else) but, I feared they may cancel both my orders if I had a duplicate. I’ve had that happen before.
Kinda debating cancelling my Amazon order since I have that Play-Asia order locked in but, I feel almost obligated to keep it at $384 shipped (can’t cancel Play-Asia). But even if I sold the extra on eBay for $550 (cost of my PA order), after $50 shipping and 13.3% fees, I’d barely even make $40 back from the lower cost of the JP order. And that’s just not worth the hassle, really. I’m not looking to profit. I just don’t want the hassle of selling it.
So now it’s more of a “maybe having 2 in case one has a dead pixel or a dim screen is smart” situation.
@JaxonH you can add it to your collection wall. That’s what I will have to do with all my zelda 3ds systems. I can’t bear to sell them but I have the two 3ds systems I need to play games. Ugh moving is going to be a nightmare. Thanks again though. I don’t think I can cancel the nin nin order either.
Honestly if I’d snagged a cheaper one it would have been a present for a buddy of mine with two kids and no extra money. He finally saved up and bought a system this year but got an xbox as it can be used as a media center for the family. The only games he has are ones I gave him years ago to get him started (plus I only bought them to play with him so when I moved out of state there was no point in keeping them... I have no love for halo) so I know by the time he gets a Switch the revision of Switch 2 will be out. I’d give him my old one but I have the heat fracture on the back. And if I can’t gift something like new I don’t waste a person’s time. Ah well I will likely cave and buy him a regular one. (I just hope Nintendo doesn’t make a Zelda System next year. I promised myself not to buy a bunch of Switch systems since region locking isn't a thing but since I take mine to work the battery life is worth it...and it’s DQ.)
Anyhoo. I’m actually on hiatus to study for JLPT so this will be the last notice I respond to until December. But you have been a big help so I felt it would be rude not to.

@King-X Got it, thanks for the reply! I'm just slowly doing things in Gallopolis now haha (ended up overleveling to 18 since I accidentally met 2 metal slime)
