As I said somewhere else (probably on here), I'm playing on the same 4K TV I platinumed the PS4 version on and I still think this looks good on the big screen, just now I can kill demons on my lunchbreak too
Older than I care to remember but have been gaming since owning a wooden Atari 2600 and played pretty much everything inbetween.

Just switched it to docked mode at work, very impressive. Smooth, looks good, and ultra-violent haha. Absolutely abusing the chainsaw until it runs out of fuel. The guys are amazed such a tiny device is running Doom. With regards to the download which people are getting their pants in a twist over. I downloaded the update before playing, so cannot say whether it is required to play single player mode. But it's highly unlikely that it is mandatory and I suspect as it has been alluded, the download is for multiplayer. So it's entirely up to you what you do, play straight away or download the update first. Either way it's a cracking game, running extremely well on the Switch.
@imtom2002 Ahh great to hear! The final package is actually SMALLER than the headlines originally said (they said 9GB.) 7.7 is a "mid sized to large-ish" PS4 patch that just fixes bugs and updates free add-on content for multiplayer.....it definitely doesn't weigh in like "missing content from the cartridge." (2K, take notes.) I believe full Splatoon 2 is around 8 or so, so it's "big" but for what is a PS4/PC game, it's an average patch that doesn't make "Switch cards are too expensive" seem like a problem.
Definitely looking forward to Wolfenstein. That one may require the 32GB....we'll hope Doom and Skyrim sales encourage them to double down and spend the down-payment on the full card. Bethesda seems a lot more likely than other companies to do so.

@Lethal No say it again. I think there are some people that did not read your posts about how you will NOT buy this game. You need this attention more than anyone! Just don't get depressed please!
I will wait till it drops to $20. I expect that to happen quickly too. Just because the game is new on a certain console, that does not make it a new game worth a full price tag. Especially when that game is downgraded.
I am sure the game is still fun. But missing game mode, 30fps, and downgraded resolution and textures does not convince me to to spend $60 on the Switch instead of $20 on the PS4 version. Although playing Doom while dropping a deuce does sound enticing.

Just bought it today, for some reason Amazon wasn't offering it so Best Buy Gamer's club comes through. Also decided to finally purchase FEW.

Had to ask the empoyees at BB to go get the copies of Doom. When she came back I was curious and asked how many copies they had. She responded with only 30. I'm like only 30, that sounds like a lot to me. She says well we got 120 Mario Odyssey. I was like well it's Mario so yeah lol.
I'm enjoying it so far. Looks great on the 4k and since I have/had nothing to compare it to I think it looks excellent. I did notice it looks better in game mode then not in game mode. Those that have that option might want to check it out. It seemed a tad blurry not on game mode.

Glad to hear the details on the cart play! Since the DL is small I might actually DL the patch anyway. Making it compact and optional actually makes me more likely to participate
Wow, haven't compared to TV yet but, even with some blur, this game looks damn good in portable mode for what it is... I just said screw it and downloaded the update and, yeah, it did take less space than thought.
@Spoony_Tech I'll check that game mode vs non out in a bit. And, as we've noted, I'm loving that I got this game for ~ $35(so it ain't overpriced at all for me). 😜

@otterskateboard The digital download is both single player and multiplayer. Multiplayer is only an additional download for physical copies as the cart is only single player.
