Yes, motion is my #1 hope. It's not the end of the world if it's not included... I mean if it's not then it'll be just the same as every other version but if it is included I will be ecstati. I mean if it's not then it'll be just the same as every other version but if it is included I will be ecstatic! I'm hopeful it will be because even Skyrim included motion, and that game doesn't need it nearly as much as an FPS. So if they let you aim your bow in Skyrim with the Joycon, surely they'll let you aim your gun in DOOM and Wolfenstein 2.

The announcement of DOOM was a huge surprise. Having seen how perfectly the switch version of NBA 2k18 runs , then I expect nothing less from Bethesda's games.
@kkslider5552000 Or at the very least, the option for 60FPS. FE Warriors allowing you to choose between 1080p/30FPS and 720p/60FPS is such an underrated concept.
@Grumblevolcano What !! ..wow, that is actually possible, selecting settings like in a PC...how come I am hearing this now..ok, we need this kind of settings for coming games...

Looking forward to this, it's good that the console is getting games like this coming to it. A lot of choice and variety.
Love the support Bethesda is giving the console, fingers crossed that Fallout 4 will be next....Maybe then Rock* might bring GTA V to Switch.... Or GTA VI....
So it seems neither version is locked at 60fps, and the Xbox One version actually dips into the low 40's, and quite regularly dips below 50. Yet, despite this they say it still feels great and fluid.
And we know a stable 30 is often better than hopping all over the place between 40, 50 and 60, because it's a perfect divisor of refresh rate of 60.
So, I'm thinking they could lock this game at 30, and it would be every bit as smooth as the Xbox One version.
Also shows the resolution is dynamic and drops below 1080p regularly. Which makes me think 720p-900p is the best we can hope for. Which... that's fine. It's a hybrid console. I don't expect parity with PS4/X1.

@antster1983 It's possibly a typo. I know of a couple of retailers that, for games announced for '2017' or 'Holiday 2017' , use 31-12-2017 as a placeholder date because their website's CMS requires them to fill in a full date (DD-MM-YYYY). 13/31 is a pretty easy mistake to make. Most AAA titles aren't released on a Wednesday either.
Though given that it's announced for a holiday release date, I'm guessing it's probably not too far off.
Yeah I'm not buying that as a leak at all. But I do believe it's coming in December because Skyrim is coming first on November 17th and they won't want to cluster them back to back. Xenoblade 2 is December 1st (2 weeks after Skyrim) so I'd guess 2 weeks after Xenoblade 2. Which lands us on December 15th.
You heard it here first guys... December 15th

@JaxonH The problem with that date is 3rds usually like to release on Tuesdays. The only reason Skyrim is coming on a Friday is because Nintendo has a stake in Skyrim. Doom seems all on Betehsda's own.

If I was only ever able to have Monster Hunter and EO games in the future, I would be a happy man.
I'm not sure if Nintendo does have a stake. The articles reporting that they were publishing seem to have been wrong because the official eShop listing shows Bethesda as both the developer and publisher. Perhaps that's not true for Japan or maybe a specific region somewhere? But for the US and Europe Bethesda is publishing.
Plus if it came on a Tuesday that would mean it would be arriving only 11 days after XC2. Not to say that's impossible- after all FE Warriors is dropping just 7 days before Mario Odyssey...

@JaxonH Nintendo is somehow involved as the official site for the game came from them if I'm not mistaken. Plus they don't normally allow Nintendo content in 3rds games without some presence.
Oh and I was referring to the 19th, the following Tuesday.
@MegaTen The key thing I took away from their statement is the DOOM look and feel, implying 60fps feel.
Im sure idSoftware would only do it if their vision was possible. Looking at stuff like Skyrim running comparably to PS4? Or the custom FIFA? Mario + Rabbids? Im sure custom Switch engines and wider used engines can get great results.
More so when using Vulkan
